by buckywhip Online Now May 30, 2011 at 9:59 PM

Fellow VTers My wife and I will be going to Europe (France, Germany, Vienna, Switzerland and Italy) for honeymoon this 1st-22nd June. Was looking at the weather forecast and it says Paris weather is 50-70F (10-20C). It is really that cold? Do we need to bring thicker wind breaker/ sweater to withstand the cold Hope can get some help soon :) Man thanks in advance!

It's questionable, they can have a heat wave, but it is early summer. I would bring a lightweight jacket though. If you intend to go to the mountain areas, it will be cold, but in the city count on the 70"s cheers tommy x

That's 'normal'European weather - compared to S'pore you'll find it cold so I advise that you take layers of clothing.

Take a rain jacket with you. There are often heavy thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon/evening usually after a very hot day. At least for Vienna I can report this.

In June, July, August it is mostly above the 20c in these countries so it is never really cold unless you are in the high mountains. As mentioned, have a kind of light rain jacket for the wet cooler days, by no means, pack light cloths and if you find out you really missing anything just step into local store and buy something if you need.

I just checked the 10 day weather forecast for Paris and there is a twenty degree swing during that period (from 62F - 84F). This is common during this period and does make packing just a bit cumbersome. But at least cool can be comfortable.

Bring one light fleece or sweather cause in the evening it will be rather chilly. Not cold. Bring also a rain jacket for in case. Trust me, that's all you need. When the forecast says sunny and 20C, it means the temperature in the shade. In the sun it will be at least 26C. It's not that cold over here. Have a nice trip and enjoy your honeymoon.

We've needed a lined jacket in Paris in July. The weather can (and will) change dramatically so be prepared. Taked layers and then if it is cold, wear all your layers; if it is warm, use only the layers you need. It can be very hot early in the year and quite chilly even well into summer. The only thing you can count on is that anything can happen so try to be prepared. We're from California and it seems colder to us than to someone from a northern climate. I suspect you may be the same. Congratulations on your marriage and enjoy your honeymoon in Paris.
