Is there old ruins of an old town amongst the bush there? is the why they call it "the diggings"?

Last time I was there I didn't see any ruins but there are suppose to be old mine shafts scattered in the bush. I have a tip and photo of it on my Eungella page. There is a campsite site there. Set amongst gum trees and beside a section of Broken River it was very peaceful but didn't have many ammenities. You will need a 4 wheel drive to get there. Hope this helps...
