    • Fiancé visa

      Brazil Jan 31, 2016 at 6:50 PM

Hi, would anyone have some good information on the best way to get my fiancé here to the US so that we can get married. I know there is a fiancé visa but there's also something called the k3. Reading the site it appears they require meeting in person before granting a fiancé visa. Idk if that's the case or not. Thanks

      Private Guide

Rio de Janeiro Jan 19, 2016 at 5:47 AM

Hello everyone. I will be in Rio for only two days at the end of May. Because my time is limited I think it's best to go with a guide. There are several forums/websites with recommendations but I'd like to see what everyone here has to say. Thanks!

Hi, I am going to Rio end of March (20th) and was wondering what weather to expect? I have seen mixed posts about this but would like to know/hoping I am going to see more sun than rain and that it will be hot? As I will be doing a few tours and to come back with a good tan!

    • Living in Florianopolis

      Florianópolis Jan 12, 2016 at 2:29 AM

Hi, we are living in Ireland, but currently in Belo Horizonte but hope to move to Florianopolis for a few months in Feb. My husband is from Brasil and our children are 15 and 11. They love the sea and surfing. Can anyone offer advise as to where might be the best area to find accomadation there and the nicest and safest part to live in? We would ideally like to be within walking distance from the beach or skate board/basketball/soccer parks as we won't have a car. But we can take the bus too. Thanks a million for any tips. Alice

    • Kayaking the Amazon River. Kayak hire? Helpful info?

      Manaus Aug 17, 2012 at 6:20 AM

I'm planning to kayak the Amazon. I have around 45 days.
I'm in the early stages of planning.
I'm looking to start in Manaus and head East to the Atlantic.

Does anyone know of a place to buy or hire a kayak in Manaus?

I'm open to any suggestions anyone may have regards independent travel along the Amazon. As I say I am in the early stages of planning.
Any hiking trails? Routes? Or helpful info?

    • from Barreirinhas to Jericoacoara via coast

Estado do Maranhão Feb 23, 2010 at 3:37 AM

I will be travelling alone to Ceara and Maranaho next July. I want to go from barreirinhas to Jeri travelling via the coast (buggy 4X4 should eb the only option i guess).
I am having troubles finding out info on the internet on how easy is to arrange such a trip in barreirinhas and, most important, how much it would cost me....

Has anyone of you done this trip before? Do you have the e-mail address of an agency in barreirinhas that i can contact?

      Kind regards

How long to spend in Manaus before a cruise?

      Manaus Aug 19, 2008 at 5:42 PM

I am seeking a general or ballpark time frame on how many days would be needed to get acclimated to and see the major sites of Manaus in April 2009.

I have only done some preliminary checking so far and most "attractions" seem to up to 100 km away which leads me to think that perhaps at least 3 days would be needed to see the major highlights.

      Any feedback appreciated.

Hi! I'm moving from Chicago to teach English in Sao Luis and am trying to find a chiropractor (quiropraxista) in Sao Luis or somewhere nearby (even if I have to go to Fortleza, Belem, etc.) Also, do you know if Brazil has something similar to chiropractors (bone setters, rolfers, etc.?) Thanks!
