What do you do with your bag while swimming at the beach.

My family of 11 (ages 1 to 59) will be stopping in Progreso in May of this year on the Carnival Elation.
We would like to spend our hours there at the best beach not too far from the port.
We would need transportation and a nice quiet place to play.
Suggestions?
We do not need alcohol but would love good food for lunch, beach chairs, umbrellas, maybe a pool and other water activities. And I am always open to an affordable massage.

How long to drive direct (no stops)? I read the trip is now only 2.5 hours but have not been able to confirm.

I'm flying into Cancun Feb 28th, renting a car and driving to Progeso for a week. It's a four hour drive - are the roads between Cancun and Progreso well maintained? Secondly, I've read the Progreso beaches are nice but not good for snorkeling - are there snorkeling opportunities in the area, such as in cenotes? Do I bother to bring my snorkeling gear? Thanks!

I'm looking to rent a place in Progreso, Mexico on or near the beach, for 5 months next winter -November 2013 to March 31st, 2014. Hi all, My friend and I will be in the Yucatan for 2 weeks in March/ April. The rough route we have so far: Cancun - Chichen Itza - Merida - Campeche - Palenque - San Cristobal - then back towards Cancun staying at either Playa del Carmen or Isla Mujeres. (We know we will probably have to cut something out to fit if into 2 weeks but this is just a rough idea) Can anyone suggest a good final place to stay near Cancun that has good beaches? Also if you have any advice on the rest if the itinerary feel free to comment! Thanks in advance.

My father wants to know if the buses that run between Cancun and Merida are safe for 2 American women.

We are spending 2 weeks in Progresso just north of Merida. Has anyone rented a car through rentalcar.com? Or have you rented a car on arrival at the airport? We have always booked a car over the internet but are concerned about the 3rd party liablility which now has to be purchased from a mexican company? Any suggestions? Thanks!

My wife and I plan to spend four nights in Valladolid in January. We would like your advice on hotels or B&Bs in a quiet area, if possible for no more than80 USD a night..We would like to do day trips from Valladolid. Can we get to interesting places by bus? I am in Merida and planning to visit Cancun in one of my weekend. I really have no time in planning as this is a bussiness trip and Im busy on weekday in Merida. I hope you can suggest on my question below. 1) Can I leave in Merida in Friday night by bus? Is it safe to do so?Any bus company recomendation? 2) Is there any cheap accomodation in Cancun (less than 50 USD) per day. 3) How many days I needed so I can explore cancun. My wife and I are arriving in Cancun Jan 5/2012 and are to travel to Merida by bus. Does anyone know where the bus station is from the Cancun airport and what bus number or bus do we take to Merida?

We will be arriving in Progreso by Carnival on Oct24. Carnival does not seem to offer very many good shore excursion in progreso. The ones that are good are really expensive. Can anyone advise how much you can get the basically same shore excursions for if you wait and book when you get off the ship? Are these safe and reliable? We cant afford to miss getting back in time to get on the ship.

Are there any locals offering fishing? We will be arriving in Progresso on Oct 24 on Carnival, we will only be there for a short time. I was wondering if there are any fishing excursions to be found, one that they will possibly cook your catch, so you can enjoy it before its time to get back onboard.

Hi everyone, It's been awhile since I posted on here, but I have a few questions! I'll fly into Cancun on June 29th and will leave on July 9th. I plan on renting a car from the airport, so I have a few questions: - Has anyone does this that can recommend it? - Would it be better to buy a map here or in Cancun? All the maps I see on Amazon are kind of old, and the newest one is from 2008. - I've rented a car in advance from Budget for a total of like78. This does not include insurance. I plan on buying ALL the insurance I can. Can anyone give a rough estimate of how much they spent on car rental? - Any tips on driving? I've driven in LA and in NYC, so I figure Mexico can't be so bad, but I'm still nervous! Thanks in advance!!

Since I am planning to live in Mexico for some time. How do I go about getting my prescription for Zoloft and Welbutrin refilled while I'm there? Is there Mexican health insurance that I would need or is the cost reasonable enough to just pay cash? Any info appreciated. Thank you!
