    • Best cenotes in Yucatan

      Cancún Apr 30, 2013 at 3:43 PM

I will be staying in Puerto Morellos for 8 days and on one of those days I'd like to visit Chichenitza, Vallodolid and a cenote.
Most tours seem to go to Ik Kil but I have read that the best cenote is Dzitnup. Which do you think are the best cenotes and and do you know of any tours which include Dzitnup, Chichenitza and Valloladid?
Or is it possible/easy to visit them in one day with public transport/taxi? How much does this cost?
      Thanks in advance

    • How to avoid timeshare scam and have a safe vacation in Cancun

      Cancún May 22, 2013 at 2:37 PM

I am planning to have an 30 years anniversary vacation with my wife in Cancun this September/2013. I've been reading all the review from all experienced travelers and most of them are involved with timeshare sale scam. Not only get into the scam and ruin the whole vacation for most of them which I feel very sad when reading it. After refused or withdraw from the scam deals, they were treated like a second citizens or bottom line tourist. We never get out of US since we married and love the beaches a lot. I've heard it's beautiful beaches and resorts in Cancun and wanted to have a great vacation with my love. But it's seem like unsafe with all the situation that I've seen from all the review. It's happened in most of the resorts there. Any advises is appreciated. I am thinking to travel with US might be safer? Thank you for any input.

    • Any ideas for boyfriend's Birthday?

Playa del Carmen Apr 9, 2013 at 12:38 PM

My long term boyfriend & I are going out of the country for the first time to Playa Del Carmen(not too far from the downtown area) in a few weeks. His Birthday is right before we leave for our trip & I would really love to do something special there to surprise him.. Does anyone have any ideas? Such as certain excursions, clubs, spas, or even something out of the ordinary? Typically I would research things months in advance, but I don't have much time left & this month is going to fly by with everything else I have got going on. Also, we can travel to the nearby areas(such as Tulum, Akumal, Cancun, etc.) if needed. And please note that while I'm into adventure.. I'm not into extreme adventure such as sky diving or swimming with sharks ;)

I really really appreciate any ideas, tips, or anything else anyone would like to throw out there. Thank you :)!!!

We're staying at the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen for reference.

      Akumal Beach Resort

      Akumal Jan 11, 2013 at 12:42 PM

Six adults (my siblings and our husbands/wives) are considering staying at the Akumal Beach Resort in April. We are in our mid 50's to mid 60's and have varying interests. My husband and I are scuba divers. My sister and her husband are snorkelers and my brother and his wife are "sit on the beach with a cocktail and read" types. None of us go for nightlife, but we like good food and friendly service. Does anyone have an opinion of the ABR? Is it falling into disrepair, as some people seem to think? Would it be a good fit for our group? Thank you for any help you can provide. Kelypierce

      Flights from Cancun to Cuba

      Cancún Nov 25, 2012 at 9:03 AM

Hi, my partner and I will be flying into Cancun on the 1st of Jan 2013 for 3 months of travelling in Mexico and nearby places. After a month or two of being a bit indecisive, we're currently planning/hoping to try to fly straight out to Cuba for 3 weeks or so - a few of our friends did this several years ago, and they said it was easy enough to book flights while in Cancun (either through local travel agents or at the airport). My question is, has this changed? Are we likely to run into any problems because it's so soon after NY? We got a great deal on return flights to Cancun from the UK, so that's why we're not flying direct to Cuba.

    • Do Cancun buses only stop at bus stops?

      Cancún Oct 20, 2012 at 8:51 PM

Hi! I'd like to know if the buses in the Hotel Zone and downtown Cancun only stop at the bus stops to load passengers. Or can you hail a bus almost anywhere on the street? Do you just wave your hand when you see the bus you want to get on? I know this sounds like a silly question, but there are cities that are very strict with this issue and others aren't. Thanks!
