      Fortaleza May 14, 2015 at 5:21 AM

      Hi all,

I will be in Fortaleza with a friend on the 25-26 of july and i wanted to take tickets for the Fortal 2015. I struggle to find any info on it away from the the official website in portuguese.

Do you guys know which tickets i should buy? And what should i expect from it? Is there any particular package?

I wanted to go for the Camarote Mucuripe (Sab+Dom), but it is impossible to understand what i will get for that and how i would collect my ticket.

      Any info would be welcome.

If anyone will attend happy to get in touch to go as a group as well

      6 weeks in Brasilia

      Brazil May 13, 2015 at 2:33 PM

Hello, i'm a student and planning to participate in a volunteer program for 6 weeks this summer. Among my options for destinations is Brasilia(also Serbia,Egypt,Russia and Tunisia), which seems to be more appealing to me since i live in Greece and i think it will be once in a lifetime experience to go that far and also sounds quite exotic. Is it worth? is the weather good in July? Google search for images shows mostly buildings and lacks people and life is it as it seems?

      Brazil May 11, 2015 at 7:14 AM

      Hi all,

three of us (students in the twenties) are planning to travel through Brazil for four weeks in September. We have never been to South America before, yet are fairly experienced traveler. I've read the northeast should be a good time to travel for September.

What do you think? Any recommendations for a route?

I'd prefer a mix of coast and inland, though I have no idea if that is possible to realize ;).

      Thanks a lot guys!!

      Questions about Airbnb

      Brasil May 2, 2015 at 10:29 AM

I wish to start using the services of Airbnb and I have read enough on the subject. However I have some uncertainty and "insecurity", since it always deals with a physical and not a legal entity. I know of cases of cancellations at the last minute and other disorders, which ultimately undermine the credibility of the service.

Does anyone have a long experience in using this website?

      Already, thank you.

Where can I find a ornate machete with like animal skull head w jutting teeth on the handle in a elaborate sheath. It looks like its made of ceramic and wood with rocks, marbles for eyes on a face. The blade says Tramontina Brasil and the sheath is stamped Cecero Recife. I broke it and it was a prized gift from an Uncle to a teenager. I've been searching for days. Any advice? Thank you! Julie

      Recife Jun 29, 2013 at 5:19 AM

      Hi,

I will be arriving in Recife on the 3th of august. I want to rent a car to travel up North (or South) to explore. I have no plans but love the freedom of having a car.

I can't seem to find a rental company that looks trustworthy enough. I need unlimited mileage, pick up or meet&greet at the airport and good insurance. Does anyone have experience with rentals at Recife Airport? I could really use some help here! (And advice on places to drive to also never hurts! ;)

      Thanks guys! Greetings

Does anyone know if this is possible (11th is a Thursday)
We arrive in Recife onthe 8th so can't book until then. Do you think this is leaving it too late & it will be difficult to get a seat because of carnival. Also does anyone know how much it is, how long it takes or if you can prebook on line at all!!!

It would be wonderful if there were some sort of social group that she could do fun things with. She's 31, and speaks extremely good Portuguese.

If any of you have any tips for us, please let me know!

      Good news about shuttle...

      Recife Feb 14, 2008 at 6:56 PM

The tour company will pick us up at the port!!! That is great news.

The next piece of news that they had for us...they will not drive us up the hill to Olinda. The tour says Recife/Olinda....

My question is.....does anyone know how steep or long this 'hill' is? Do you think we can walk up.

It seems very strange and we've asked the tour director exactly what they mean by this.

I thought I'd ask all you friendly, helpful folks.

      Thank you,

In Recife for a few hours only: What to choose Recife or Olinda ?

      Olinda Jan 12, 2008 at 11:20 AM

On our cruise, our ship is docking in Recife from 8a.m. to 3 p.m. Hardly any time to see anything as we have heard that many sites are closed during lunch hour. What would you suggest that would help us get a "taste" of Recife or Olinda so that we can bring back interesting memories. We are interested in people and their customs mostly and are not attracted by beaches.

      TIA for your input.

Is there a nice beach in Olinda where tourists prefer or various beaches ? How big is the place ? If I stay in the city center how far is the beach. could i walk the area on foot or is not that small place?

Honeymoon in Porto de Galinhas. Where to stay?

Pôrto das Galinhas Nov 9, 2007 at 3:35 PM

After debating between Jericoacoara, Arraial d'Ajuda, Maragogi and Porto de Galinhas, we are finally set on spending 10 nights in Porto de Galinhas (please let me know if you think another place in Brazil is better).

Now we are torn between where to stay in Porta Galinhas. I have heard that the Hotel Ponta d'Ocapora is really nice and has a great beach. BUT I have also heard that the Pousada Tabatiptaga is very nice as well (and more private). Can anyone give me their thoughts on which would be the better option?

      Thanks in advance!
