    • Information about British Council (Caracas) Location

      Venezuela May 17, 2013 at 8:12 AM

Hello all : I am researching institutions offering CELTA courses in Caracas . I am wondering if anyone knows the area where the "British Council" is located. The address is given as ; Avenida Santa Lucia, Caracas, Venezuela . I would like to know about the safety of the area , if there are convenient locations close by e.g. restaurants , hospital, supermarket etc , the part of Caracas (district ) where it is located and any other info you think might be useful . I thank you very much .

    • Digital camera prices on Isla Margarita

Isla Margarita Jun 7, 2010 at 4:35 AM

Hi everyone, Me and my girlfriend are travelling to Isla Margarita in July. My old digital camera is worn out and I would like to buy a new one. Could you recommend waiting until I arrive on the island and buy it Sambil mall and how much is the discount? We have quite alot of tax on items in Denmark, so it proberly would be much cheaper to buy it here? Can anybody give some prices of amounts to save? Perhaps even a website to a store in Isla Margarita? Thanks alot in advance, Klaus

      Venezuela Travel Questions

Isla Margarita Feb 7, 2010 at 1:31 PM

Hi! I'm planing a trip to Venezuela between 25 March - 10 April 2010. I will arrive in Caracas and it's only me travelling. I'm still considering what options I have, but I'm most interested in spending time on the coast or on the ocean. I would like to make a boat trip to some of the islands in the Caribic - maybe Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St Vincent & Grenadines and Barbados. But going in the other direction to Los Roques, the dutch Antilles, Curacao and Aruba would be nice as well. Can you offer any kind of trip which combines any of these destinations? I'm also interested in getting tips on Caracas (where to stay, what to do, where to eat, where to go out) and tips on the most interesting inland trips that can be made. I know of most of the big attractions like Angel falls, Orinoco, Jungle Trips, Isla Margharita and so on - but would like to hear about something interesting but not to touristy. I'm ok doing everything from backpacking in the jungle, staying at a spa hotel, driving a couch bus, clubing and eating all the good local food. I love nature, meeting new people, trying the local food and drinks and be able to swim and do sports outdoors. I hope you have some tips for me. I have been in contact with a few tourist agencies, but it seems to be a problem that I'm travelling alone (for some reason) and the fact that I'm planing to use Venezuela as a starting point for a boatrip into the Caribic doesn't appear to be the standard approach. Your help is most appreciated! :) Chris

Please can anyone advise what times Diverland is open ? Many thanks in advance for any help. Susan.

    • Bus to Santa Elena de Uairén

Santa Elena de Uairén Sep 17, 2009 at 6:20 AM

Hi all. We need to get from Caracas to Santa Elena de Uairén while arriving to Caracas airport early afternoon. We do not want to fly due to necessity to pay for tickets using terrible oficial exchange rate when booking and paying ahead. 1. An obvious option seems to be to take one of many night buses to Ciudad Bolivar and switch to a daily bus from there. Does anybody please know the schedule of daily buses from Ciudad Bolivar to Santa Elena de Uairén? The route should be served at least by Turgar Express and San Cristobal bus companies. 2. Another and seemingly easier option would be to take a direct bus from Caracas to Santa Elena de Uairén. Yet, the buses of companies known to me - Expresos Caribe, Expresos los Llanos, Expresos Occidente - seem to leavy too early for us to catch them on the day of our arrival. Does anybody please know if there are any direct buses from Caracas to Santa Elena de Uairén leaving in the evening after 18:00? Thanks for help.

    • Accommodation in Paraitepuy under Roraima

Estado Bolívar Feb 19, 2009 at 10:33 PM

Hi. Is there any budget accommodation now available in Paraitepuy under Roraima in Venezuela? We do not need anything fancy, just a place to spend night before our trek and store our excessive stuff brought for changeful travelling around Venezuela. Also, does anybody have any e-mail contact in Paraitepuy (or at least San Francisco de Yuruani) where we could pre-negotiate transport to Paraitepuy and/or a guide for our trek? We would like to start our trek early to avoid heat on the savanna and shorten our accession to the mountain. Thanks.
