Hello all : I am researching institutions offering CELTA courses in Caracas . I am wondering if anyone knows the area where the "British Council" is located. The address is given as ; Avenida Santa Lucia, Caracas, Venezuela . I would like to know about the safety of the area , if there are convenient locations close by e.g. restaurants , hospital, supermarket etc , the part of Caracas (district ) where it is located and any other info you think might be useful . what is the latest travel advise for choroni regarding safety
Hi. We plan to spend few days at Puerto Colombia / Choroni near Maracay at the PN Henri Pittier, Venezuela –mostly snorkelling. 1. Could anybody please recommend good snorkelling spots around there which can be reached on foot only (i.e. without a need to hire a boat)? I know there are several beaches reachable on foot, but I cannot find any details about their suitability for snorkelling - there should be the Playa Puerto Escondido, Playa El Baul, Playa Tipire, and Playa El Diario to the west, and the Playa Grande and Playa la Cieneguita to the east of Puerto Colombia. 2. We also consider renting a boat and spent a day on some of the beaches reachable only by rented boat (lanchas). Could anybody please recommend which of the near beaches are the best for snorkelling? Possible candidates seem to be Playa La Calera, Playa Valle Seco, Playa Chuao, Playa Cepe, or Playa de Aroa. Thanks in advance for help.
Is anyone familiar with the location of an English-speaking school, Academy Las Delicias, located on Avenida Las Delicias up the mountain past the zoo, circ 1963-1965? I believe it may have been located in an old Gomez mansion.

Hi I would like to know wich it is the diference on Choroni and puerto Colombia, also a good recomendacion for a hotel in choroni, and how it is the best way to get there.
i am going to choroni this coming october (2004) and would like to know if playa grande is a nice, clean beach . Also would like to know a posada with AC very close to the boardwalk or " malecon". Any suggestions would be greatly apprecciated. Lourdes
