Hello, I´m travelling to Essaouira in december with my boyfriend and we´re looking for an appartment to stay for 2 months. We don´t have much money and we´re expecting to spend around 400 €/month. Does anyone knows of someone who rents houses there and how are the prices in this time of the year? I´d thank very much any information because on internet everything I find is for tourists and expensive.
Hello! My boyfriend and I stayed in Essaouira and paid 30 euros per night. The apartment was big but you may find some with one room for around 15 euros per night. Because the city is so windy at that time of year, most tourists don't go to Essaouira for a long time . . . so you may have more choices of apartments and buying power ;) When you arrive, take a taxi to the Ibis hotel on the road to the beach. There will be a man on the street across from the hotel with keys, trying to rent out apartments . . . he won't charge as much as a rental agency would. You can also talk to local cafes or stores to see if they know locals who have apartments available to avoid the middle man prices of the agencies. I have a friend who lives there . . . do you want me to ask him to search out apartments for you so you have a place ahead of time? I also know some good restaurants and stuff . . . Hi, also check out VTers who live there - Windcity lives there and maybe you will find the months you want are the months she wants to rent out hers!? But contact her and Im sure she will have info to help you with.

Hi again, I think you wrote to me on Africa guide, as said before you would find it hard to find a place in the Medina within your budget. Accommodation in Essaouira is probably the most expensive in all Morocco, despite tourist numbers being down on last year. I would wait until you get here and then ask around, There is a campsite if you are prepared to camp for a few days or until you find what you were looking for.
