We want to visit a cheese-making factory or dairy and a prosciutto-making business/farm. Prices for 5 hour tours are expensive--$650 for 3 of us. I have emailed a dairy that I found on VT (thanks!) but is it possible to get a 1/2 day tour for the Parma area for less than $650, for three of us?
Road trip December (Closed Thread)
My husband and I are deciding about traveling to Emilia Romagna in 2 days. The weather forecast seemed much better a few days ago but after checking it today, the surprise was not very good... Of course it will be cold but what worries us most is the rain as we were thinking on renting a car to visit several towns.
The plan was to fly to Venice to pick up the rental car there. we are not staying in Venice. From there we'd visit Padova, Ferrara, Mantova, Piacenza, Parma, Modena and Ravenna. We were thinking on sleeping in different locations along the way, instead of having a base in one place only. The departure flight would be from Bologna.
Our main question is: should we be worried about drive/road conditions? Are there some segments to avoid? Should we be prepared to icy roads or are they mainly in the high regions? We've never drove in the North so we are a bit uneasy after checking the weather conditions.
Regarding these towns, does someone have any particular recommendation?
Thank you very much for all the advice you can give us!
On January 3rd my husband and I would like to spend 2 nights (Saturday – Monday) in Bologna, Italy as the last stop before we return back to the US. We are looking for hotel recommendations and activities that we can do while we are there. Thank you in advance for your help.
I am looking for a fun activity to do in Bologna for a group of 10 girls on a hen party. We are going to look around the sights and markets etc but wanted a fun daytime activity to do on one of the days we are staying in Bologna. We will be there at the end of May.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
Are there any public bathrooms in Bologna?
I am looking at visiting Marina Di Ravenna in May for my sisters hen party. Would it be a good place to go for a hen party? Also what is there to do there? Are there any boat trips etc? What is the best and cheapest way to get there in May from Bologna Airport!
Any help possible would be greatly appreciated!

We'll be in Bologna this September (mid-to-late part of the month). Can anyone recommend good clubs or discos that play any of the following: electronic/Europop/80s/disco/soulful house? We're not into hip-hop or hard rock. Also we'll be staying in the city center... so hopefully it's a place within walking distance. Thanks/Grazie!
I found on net two information about visiting hours of Colorno castle, which are confusing. All that I understand is that castle is closed on Monday and visits are allowed only with guide, at certain hours (no mention about language).
Please advise orario of the castle, if known.

My wife and I are excited as it is now about six weeks before we head off to Ravenna. We'll be heading off at different times and staying at different places as she is part of a Dragon Boat Team heading over at the end of August, and I'll be making some side stops before I go watch her paddle.
My wife will be staying at a hotel in Cesenatico with her team. After the festival, she will break away from her tour group and meet me in Ravenna. What are some of the ways for her to get from Cesenatico to Ravenna? She usually doesn't travel without me, so she is getting a little nervous.
As I will be staying in Ravenna, what are the ways to get from Ravenna to Stadiana Bacin where the festival is being held. I emailed the tourist bureau and haven't got a response yet. Do people know of the best way for me to get there or are will they have shuttles to take people back and forth.
My friend and I will be in tuscany in september and are thinking about visiting the Parco Nazionale dell'appennino tosco-emiliano for a couple of days. In which of the villages/cities would it be best for us to situate ourselves in order to be able to take some hiking routes in the park?

My wife and I will be in rimini for about 5 days - we are middle aged like "good" local food but not silly expensive meals that don't deliver!! Love Jazz and a little "chilled Ibiza" type vibe. Can people give suggestions
also beach area of beach and ideas of cost for sunbeds etc... (can you bring your own drinks/beers etc.. if renting sunbeds)
any other local advise for things to do would be great!! (we like walking and biking etc..)
thx in advance for everyones help!!

Good day everyone,
I will be in the region of Emilia-Romagna next week and wanted to get your opinion on what the highlight/must-see places of the region are. Our interests are quite varied and range from beautiful coastal towns to charming hilltop villages. We have a car so traveling around the region is quite possible for us.
Many thanks in advance for all your recommendations!
