Lodge of Whispering Pines

by linwoods Online Now Mar 1, 2006 at 8:04 AM

I would love to hear from anyone who has spent time at this Lodge, particularly in the summer months. A small group of us will be going North for vacation instead of coastal. At the risk of sounding like a tourist...will we feel like we are truly in the deep wilderness? We have been to Canada and it was great! How does Ely compare?

It's interesting that this was the latest post in the North American forums (when I checked), considering I live just about an hour and a half or two south of Ely.

I've never been to the lodge (and only to Ely once just to see what the town was like, a few months ago), but the general Ely area is very forested / scenic / in the boon docks. If it's in the area, you'll almost surely feel like you're in "nature", simply because that's about all that's up there in that corner of the state.
