Official one night fares in Eilat are hogher than what you may expect. Americana hotel, one of the best 3 star hotels in Eilat (by location, facilities and quality of rooms) ask for about 65$ on BB (54$ for a single occupancy). For pre booking, there are some hotel who might charge for less, but not much less (it also depends if it is midweek or not). If you insist on a hotel, try and CALL Adi hotel (http://www.adihotel.co.il/) it hasa good location, and since they have no swimming pool (one of very few who dont) thay charge much lower fares than similar hotel. Still, you would have to call them, since published fares are high (In Israel Internet fares are far from being the lowest).

I am warmly recommend Americana hotel as well. It is private owned located in good location and great value for money. www.americanahotel.co.il

There are planty of hotels in Eilat, and there's also a youth hostel and rented private rooms at people's Villa's. Mid May temperatures might get already to 40 degrees Celsius, I found out that even in small town distances are getting much further in such climate LOL :-) Anyway, when distances were more then a mile I usually used a taxi, it cheap and fast.
