It seems that Leith has some really nice restaurants. How far is it from Edinburgh? If it is walking distance, is it a nice walk or along busy roads? Any restaurant recommendations? Thanks! Jane
It has some great restaurants by the old port... we're all fond of the Ship on the Shore. It's a long, and not particularly inspiring or rewarding walk, but there are plenty of buses to get you down there from anywhere in the centre.

HI Jane, I live in Leith and it has some of the best fish restaurants in the city. Try The Waterfront Wine bar for an evening meal or the Kings Wark pub for lunch/dinner - its a really quaint little pub. If you are looking for cocktails or just a drink then The Lighthouse is the place to go. Its not a nice walk into town, but you can easily get the bus - Number 22 or 16 which take you right into the city. It costs 80pence per person and usually takes about 15 minutes. Fell free to ask any more questions on Edinburgh - its and amazing city! Lesley

We had dinner at the Britannia Spice Indian/Thai restaurant in Leith. The food really was very good, but the waiters got on our nerves a bit being a bit over-ambitious to take our plates away when we really hadn't finished yet.

Hi, Waterfront Wine Bar is good. I think it has been taken over by the Gavin Ferguson, the owner of "Skippers". Personally, I like Skippers Bistro very much for seafood (try the Fishcakes).... www.skippers.co.uk Fishers Bistro in Leith has also nice seafood. Tom
