Self Sustainable living in Ecuador

by fatguyslim Online Now Mar 26, 2011 at 1:13 PM

Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some advice from someone who is into Sustainable living and also who lives in Ecuador. Me and my friend are thinking of going to Ecuador to build an Earthship. The first aim is to find the most suitable place to this, so can anyone please tell me where can I find self sustaining communities? Also can anyone provide some information as what places have an easy excess to water springs and streams? I am not use to the culture but the aim is to integrate and help the community through Permaculture and Self-sustainability. Please contact me as soon as possible as I am planning to leave in about 2 - 3 weeks. Thanks

Your earlier post has been deleted - most likely because your question is not really the sort of Travel Question VT is able to deal with. Perhaps you should be looking at a different type of Forum - one dealing with global issues, environment and sustainable living alternatives.

I did see your earlier post and thought much the same thing. A specialist website/forum is more likely to give you the information you need. Have you come across http://www.rhiannon-community.org/ already? One other question did immediately leap to mind: you have, I assume sorted out your Ecuador visa, given that (again, I assume) you intend to stay there for a long period of time? I could find no suitable visa when I explored the Ecuadorean Consulate UK website.
