We are planning a road trip to this area in July 2015. We'd like to find out where to go for some fun at night... dancing? Live music? Also, looking for fun things to do during the day. What's not to miss? There will be 6 of us that graduated HS together, and we're looking to make some great memories together!

      KC visit late July

Kansas City Apr 19, 2015 at 7:15 PM

We're continuing our quest of baseball parks this summer. KC, Arizona, and Colorado are on our list this year. We usually spend another day or two in the cities we visit. Looking for tips on where to stay relatively close to the ballpark, and other "must-see", "must-eat", etc. locations while in KC.

      Thanks!

    • Commuting Orlando to Auburndale / Lakeland

      Orlando Yesterday

      Hello,

I've yet to find a good answer to this question.

I will be starting a new job in Auburndale, FL and planned to commute from the north side of Orlando (near I-4). I understand I-4 could potentially be a nightmare during rush hour, but does it depend on the direction you're going?

Traveling south (I-4 W) during morning traffic and north (I-4 E) in afternoon traffic. Will I generally be going against heavy traffic? Estimated time typically says near 1 hour. Would you expect this to be higher, or relatively accurate?

I appreciate any insight you could offer...Thanks!

Kodiak Island Apr 24, 2015 at 3:07 PM

I'd like to do some bear viewing, hiking, fishing, and other fun stuff while on Kodiak Island. Most of those activities are quite costly with a guide. Is it possible to experience what Kodiak has to offer in term of wildlife viewing without a guide on my own? I appreciate any info. Thanks.

    • US B2 Visa Application

United States of America Apr 22, 2015 at 8:25 PM

My family is planning a visit to Hawaii later this year. Most of us are eligible for the VWP, but my wife needs a B2 visa since she holds a Malaysian passport, though she's resident in Singapore. From the website ustraveldocs.com, I gather that there are a few hoops that she needs to jump through in order to just submit her application:

      1. Print out a form and pay the visa application fee (USD160 in SGD equivalent) at a Standard Chartered Bank branch in Singapore. No problem, there are a few around. But the bank will issue a receipt with a serial number which is needed later.

      2. Fill out an online form and upload a photo. No problem, although the form is like 20 pages long. Mostly done, but I have yet to submit the form electronically.

      3. Create a user account, login, submit the form together with the payment serial number from (1) above. This is the problem - I am unable to create an account. Calling the helpline doesn't help - the automated voice menu doesn't cover this issue and there is no option to speak to a person. There's also a chat function which timed out. There's just a generic error message that doesn't give any indication what the problem might be.

So essentially I have to fork out SGD224 for her visa, with no guarantee that I can even get to submit the form if the account cannot be created. And the fee is non-refundable.

Could anyone who applied for a US visa before suggest what I could be doing wrong, or what the problem might be? It could be that a new user account can only be created after the form has been submitted, but that means having to pay the application fee first. It's a leap of faith I'm not prepared to take at this time since the fee is not insignificant.

      Thanks.

    • Los Angeles to Seattle via US 101

      Los Angeles 6 hours ago

Hi, I am from India and will be travelling to the US in Aug/Sep time period. Basically me and a couple of friends want to go on a road trip from Los Angeles to Seattle via US 101 in 8 days time. We were thinking of hiring a Jeep or other convertible for the drive. All of us have a drivers license issued in India and have used it on east coast to rent a car without having to have a International Drivers Permit. Is this mandatory in California / Oregon / Washington to rent a car? Other than wanting to spend a day or so in San Francisco we haven't made any plans yet. Any advice on where to go or what to do and where to stay along the US 101 is welcome. Thanks in advance

    • Short term apartments pls..

by vishnuprasadh Online Now Jan 28, 2005 at 6:59 AM

Hi All, I am travelling to Durham in Feb'05. Duration would be for 6-7 weeks. I wanted to know which is the best way to get a short term apartment which has basic facilities like kitchen etc. I think it makes sense to rent an apartment for 6-7 weeks since most basic hotel rates start from say 60$, instead an apartment could be a better option...what say?? I would appreciate if anyone can give some pointers on apartments which meet my needs somewhere nearer to the address as seen below: 5 Moore Drive Research Triangle Park NC 27709 I have 2 days to finalize on this and would really appreciate any help from u guyz.. also pointers on rental charges any other charges etc would help. thanks, VIshnu
