My wife and I are relocating to SW Colorado and were recommended Bayfield for its proximity to Durango and affordability. When researching the Forest Lakes subdivision we noticed a large amount of houses for sale, and foreclosures. The homes seem reasonable priced. Is there something wrong with this neighborhood? We have driven through it many years ago and it seemed ok. Has it changed? Are there infrastructure problems? Plowing, water, sewer, etc.?
Citydata.com is a great resource for U.S relocation questions. It's free and has forums just like VT where you can ask questions. Respondents tend to be locals so give it a shot. Here is the Durango forum: city-data.com/forum/search.p...

Thanks. I will post over on City-Data and see if I can get more information.

You're welcome - and good luck! I did see some questions that had already been posted about Bayfield when I went in to copy the URL so you might cruise some of those as well.
