The only Ducks I know of in NY Are Peking Duck which is a restaurant in Chinatown or buying it in some of the restaurans and butcher shops in Chinatown.

You can fly a private plane into Manteo, N.C. and have a car pick you up. It is a small landing strip, that is 10 miles from Duck. I fly in there to catch the off shore fishing boats from Pirates Cove. Taking a car is like a ten hour drive. If private plane is not a option, the close port would be flying into Norfolk and renting a car to travel an hour and forty-five minutes to Duck. I usually take summer vacation there, but stop because it gotten super tourist influx. Still have a house there that is rented out though with good rental income. If you need more help, please post. cheers tommy x

Whew - good thing we have a member who knows about Duck, NC! >the close port would be flying into Norfolk and renting a car to travel an hour and forty-five minutes to Duck Tommy, this was the option that looked like the best possibility to me - glad you posted it.

Forget the train option. Driving is possible but it is a long trip (8 to 10 hours of driving) I suppose you could take a train from NYC to Richmond VA and then rent a car there to drive to Duck. (The Richmond rental car people will sometimes pick you up at the train station). That drive will only be about 3 hours.

I agree with everyone else. Its a long drive to Duck. I would suggest like several others have, to either get to Richmond or Norfolk and then rent a car. I love Duck and the entire Outer Banks. I got there every year in September weather permitting. Larry
