You mean Lopud, right? There are ferries there from Dubrovnik. For the ferry schedules see http://www.jadrolinija.hr/

Or do you mean Lapad - not an island but the peninsular very close to but west of the old town? If so bus from airport to City and from there - frequent buses from near the Pile Gate.

You can always book for some excursion... I have been on one all day excursion and we did a tour Sipan-Lopud-Kolocep and that was amazing. the price was I think 35 euros per pearson. But it was really something what you must to do. If you want to go to Lopod when ever you like you can always find someone.. like water-taxi... about Dubrovnik squidoo.com/vacation-in-dubr...
