We are traveling from Dublin to Gort by rail through Irishrail.ie but it's not letting me buy reserved tickets online. Does anyone know why I can't buy our tickets online? We will be flying into Dublin from the States and I'm afraid of the train being sold out. Is this possible? Thanks so much for any help!

We are looking for accommodation in Dublin, basically it's about finding a nice hotel, Bed & Breakfast or something similar. What we hope to find is a place that is within walking distance of downtown or near a dart station, a nice / beautiful place where you can sit outside in a garden or go into a park and a place not too expensive.. I have heard that St Stephen Green is a nice area but it may also be other places where it is near the center or dart. To find something on the net is really a jungle.. I hope you know some good places? :-)
Looking for a hotel very close to Stephen's Green Park/area. Any suggestions? Trying to stay within a budget so nothing too fabulous, although I wish!! Kim

Hi,I visited Ireland in March 2011, I am returning to Ireland in March 2012. For two months now I have been trying to purchase Rugby tickets for the Ireland vs Scotland game on March 10 at Aviva Stadium, but I am confused by the distribution of the tickets to the provinces and clubs. Currently I have found a couple websites selling the tickets, but prices vary greatly from site to site and I am unsure if they are even legitimate. I also Googled Rugby tickets per province, I got results but with no valid links to purchase. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Any assistance will be appreciated, thank you.

Can anyone tell me some of there favorite places to find the some of the following: Local/ Irish Bands (we enjoy many types of music), Symphony &/or Orchestra, & Local Theater. I know its a wide list but we enjoy many types of music and theater and were hoping to fill a couple of nights with some local entertainment. If you want to recommend specific places or 'whats on' websites, ether would be great. We've gotten great tips from helpful folks on hotels & pubs. Hope to get a few more. We will be in Dublin the 1st week of December and totally dependent on public transportation.
Hi Everyone! I am going to Dublin in June and will attend a concert in Croke Park, I guess I waited too long to book a hotel because it seems that every hotel near Croke Park is either sold out or rediculously overpriced at almost400/ night. Does anyone know of any bed and breakfasts near Croke Park, I really didnt want to stay in one, but at this point I dont think I have a choice, unless there might be other nearby hotels that I havent checked. I am very desperate, please somebody help :(

Can any one point me in the direction of some neighborhoods in Dublin to find some non-touristy restaurants, pubs and the like. Early & late do the buses & rail run around the city? Thanks.
My partner and I are coming to Dublin in early December for holiday. I've been looking on the travel websites. But thought I would ask here for some recommendations. We are looking for a Hotel or B & B for a 5 night stay. We safe area for day & night walking, easily walk-able to local restaurants, pubs, city center and area attractions. Ideally a place that offers rooms with ensuite bath with soaking tub, clean, comfortable, maybe a little charm & character. Rooms quite enough for actually sleeping at least later in the evening would be good. Staff that are welcoming to gay/lesbian travelers would be great. We would really prefer not to be in a super touristy area. But still easy walking to everything, we don't want to have to depend on taxi's. A pool or spas would be a added bonus after hours of walking. But, not necessary and might be too much to hope for it the city.
Am visiting Dublin in November. Does the 16A bus from the airport go near to O'Connell street (Cavendish Row to be exact) I have been informed that the airbus goes here but no info on the 16A. And if it does how often does it run?? Thanks

We also considered renting a car for a day but werent too sure about Ireland's winters. Any information would be great!
Does anyone know of any good hotels with a jacuzzi/hot tub in the room, which is close to Temple Bar in Dublin? Its an anniversary for my wife, thank you in advance..
Hi everyone; my Husband and I are spending just over a week in Ireland and the first few days in Dublin. We are keen to stay in a romantic and nice quiet hotel, within walking distance to nice pubs, restaurants, but don't have to be right in the thick of it all as we're happy to wander and explore.
Best way to get from the airport to Exchequer street please
Hello VTs, we are vising Dublin end of August, we will be renting car for two/three days. We would like to visit two main places one is Cliff of Moher and other one is Gaint causeway. My question is on the way to Cliff of Moher can we take a short deviation and see any tourist attractions. Please suggest some ,so if we can accommdate we will ,other wise we will just go towards our destination. My other question - is it better to come back to Dublin area to go towards Gaint causeway or just go north from Galaway to Bushmills area? roads don't look like interstate highways in that direction, it might take longer right? Please suggest some other interesting spots we can see in a close distance we will try to accommdate in the time we have . We will have to see how the weather will be during end of august, hopefully it will not rain. Thanks in advance for your wonderful suggestions.
I would be grateful if you advise me how I can get by public transport to the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Which place is the best and the nearest just to have one-day- trip from the capital city. I'm going to stay there at the beginning of August. I am interested in walking somewhere in nature to see the landscape and so on. I heard that there are organised excursions, but can I do it by myself? Thank you in advance. Piotr
Hi, I'm 18 years old from Israel. My fother and I are going in a week to spend 10 days in Ireland, mostly in Dublin. We are looking for things that we can enjoy of in our time in Ireland. I'm willing to be in a big music show of a good preformer/s. I wish you could help me by telling me which performences of good singers or bands there are in Dublin or near it between the dates 27th of July and 2nd of August, because in my country it's a problem to get a good veriety of this kind of information (I don't know where to even start looking for it). Moreover, I will be pleased if you recommend me for different attractions I should not miss in my stay in Ireland (beyond the known attractions of B&B and Irish pubs). Thank you very much for your help :)
