We will be in Dublin for a few days in July. We (2 adults and one teen) would like to play golf just one day. We are looking for a decent course close to the city that offers rental clubs/shoes. We have tried to find an organized day trip as transportation will be an issue - to no avail. Any suggestions.
Hi! I'm not a golfer, but from what I've seen, the golf course at Deer Park, Howth might be suitable - it certainly offers stunning views. I stayed at this hotel last year. It also has a spa. http://www.deerpark-hotel.ie/golf Howth can be reached from Dublin by the DART, about 30 minutes or so away, then Deer Park is about a 20 minute walk, through the castle grounds. From the airport to Howth, I think it cost our group £40 by taxi. Howth is a scenic fishing village, with plenty of interesting restaurants/bars!
