    • Having a stop off in Dubai 16th Sep 13- 18th Sep 13

      Dubai Mar 12, 2013 at 7:39 AM

I'm looking to stay in one of the 5 start hotels however i'm unsure whether to book now (6 months in advance) or wait till closer the time where i may be able to get some offers with complementary half board. I've never been to Dubai before so i'm not sure what's the best option to get the best price. I don't want to book now if i can get it cheaper and with better offers closer to the time however i don't want to wait until closer to the time if there isn't going to be any offers and i'm left paying more. What do you think is the best option?

I don't want to do anything too expensive (i'm on a Budget) but I do want to explore dubai at its best. So how much should I bring (including transportation) according to your experience? how much did you spend? and what other cheap solo activities do you recommend me? thank you :) PD. sorry for bad english and I already book my hotel :)

      Driving in Dubai

      Dubai Mar 9, 2013 at 5:56 AM

Hello, I will be in Dubai for a few days in about 2-3 weeks.

I'd like to rent a car when I'm there -- is this a good idea to get around? How is the parking/traffic?

I have a US license; is this sufficient for car rental or do I need an international permit?

      Thank you.

    • Clubs and racism?

      Dubai Mar 8, 2013 at 11:51 AM

Alright, so I've heard that some clubs in Dubai are racist towards East Asians and deny them entrance at the club.
Is this true? I'm Asian, but I've been raised in Europe my entire life, and I'm going there on a vacation for a week with my best friend. We wanna check out the nightlife of Dubai, so I'm just wondering if I should take the chance?
Also, how strict are the clubs in Dubai? I've heard that in some places, they will grant you access even if you are under 21, but you'll have to pay a higher entrance fee.
Any help would be very much appreciated! :)

      Dubai Feb 28, 2013 at 10:08 AM

On route to Sydney, my friend and I are stopping in Dubai for 2 or 3 nights. Staying in Jumeira Beach, I want to know: how safe is the public transport from the airport to the hotel and back again? And is it easy to see the sights? eg: Burj Al Arab/ Burj Khalifa/ Shopping areas

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

What are the shopping facilities like in Dubai? Are UK retail stores operating in Dubai a reflection of the UK stores? Do they provide the same stock, are they as busy and are they more expensive?

    • Best time to book?

      Dubai Feb 6, 2013 at 10:39 PM

I live in Dubai and am going to Nice, France for two weeks June 20 to July 3, 2013. I will be booking ticket on the internet. Am I likely to get better deals by booking now (February) or waiting until nearer the time? As I have to let my hosts know in reasonable time, I cannot leave booking until any later than May. Someone has said that it is better to book early in Dubai because the nearer it gets to summer, the more people are booking to escape the heat of summer - and prices go up. I know that is true if you are using a local travel agent. But, as I am booking on the internet (and not with Emirates or Etihad), does it make any difference? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi guys i need to book a flight to karachi in april and all the flights have a stop at dubai. my initial plan was to visit dubai but i was considering a stopover instead of paying for a flight to karachi and then another one to dubai, but i am so confused on the stopovers and how they work if i want at least a two night stay? any advice? would it be cheaper if i choose a stopover rather than booking a separate flight? leaving from YUL (montreal, canada)...

      Ski Rink in Dubai

      Dubai Jan 31, 2013 at 3:10 AM

I will be 7 days in Dubai. Please, can someone tell where is that attraction they have as a Ski Rink in Dubai. Where is? Can I just watch people skiing or have to pay? About observation from the highest building? Is only the Burj Khalifa or there are another building open to the public? Burj Khalifa seems to be a bit expensive, about £50. What people recommend to see in Dubai? Thanks a lot. I will appreciate any suggestions.

      Timed tickets for Burj Khalifa

      Dubai Jan 30, 2013 at 10:41 AM

It is possible to buy timed tickets at http://www.burjkhalifa.ae/... For instance I am able to buy a ticket for 5 pm. Is it good for going up the observation deck at any time between 5 pm and 6 pm (I realize, that you're allowed to stay at the deck as long as you want). I realize, that the elevator takes only one minute to go up, but do I have to face (long) waiting times? Or is it sufficient to arrive at Burj Khalifa or instance at 5 pm to be at the observation deck within 15 minutes? Unfortunately I've a very tight schedule...

    • Appropriate behaviour in Dubai/ Ajman

      Dubai Jan 22, 2013 at 10:08 AM

My boyfriend and I are staying at the Kempinski hotel, Ajman, in late May and I was hoping for some first hand advice on acceptable behaviour for unmarried couples within the hotel/ on the beach please? I have checked and they are fine for us to share a room! Obviously, we're not planning on any public heavy petting, but a bit of light romance - holding hands etc would be nice! I'm guessing we must be very conservative at the airport and outside the hotel? Any answers gratefully received as Google searches are giving very conflicting answers. Thanks

      Burj Khalifa

      Dubai Jan 14, 2013 at 12:24 PM

Is it worth to visit Burj Khalifa at night too? Respectively why is the afternoon the best time to visit Burj Khalifa? When looking at the map, I supposed, that sun would glare at the afternoon, so that the northwestern parts of Jumeirah Beach including the most famous attractions like the palm and Burj Al-Arab can't be seen well? Or can't they be seen anyway and one can only see the skyline around Dubai world trade center and the creek?

Where can I get a money order or certified check?

      Dubai Dec 29, 2012 at 8:15 AM

I need to renew my US passport and in order to do this I need to send a money order or certified check back to the United States. Where can I get a money order or certified check in Dubai? I saw the Emirates Post website talks about money orders but they also talk about being able to send them out within 24 hours. I don't need an electronic transfer of money. I need a piece of paper that is a money order or certified check that I can send in the mail to my passport agency. I have never had any need for either of money order or certified check and hence have no idea about them. So please pardon me if this is a stupid question.
