Hi
We can't deside if we should stay in Bur Dubai or Deira...... I know it's close to eachother, but we would like to stay where we have restaurants and shop in walking distance, so when we have been out all day walking we have everything near by at night. What is your opinion/experience? ;-) And can you recommend a good hotel in the best area?
Thanks
Is Dubai cheap to shop in

Hello
We are just wanting to know if it is better to pay to have an airport/hotel transfer or is it easier & cheaper to catch a taxi? It will be from International Airport to Dubai Marina area. There will be 5 of us.
Thank you
Looks like I may be spending a little time in Dubai. I'm aware alcohol can be bought in hotel bars but is it possible to buy in eg supermarkets for consumption at home or do expats find a different way?
I'm sure this has been asked before and thanks for any help :-)
Hi. Am arriving Dubai soon.
I am a Chinese lady.
1) What is the dress code that is acceptable in this country? I will probably be in jeans and t-shirt.
2)How crowded is it on the subway at about 1 or 2pm? We have to use the subway to get to Moon Valley Hotel Apartments at Bank Street, Dubai Google map says to get off. at BurJuman Metro station 1. Used the google map to get my directions but there seems to be so many Burjuman Metro stations.A1 , D1. Which one is it??? where i can cross the roads safely as my husband has mobility problems
3) Any idea how much the subway fare will be to my destination? Do they have a 24 hour pass where i can buy? Is it more economical? I shall be in Dubai for only half a day and nite as the next day, we will join a cruise ship.
4) Any idea how much a taxi would cost from Moon Valley apts to the cruise terminal?
5) Where can I go get simple dinner and breakfast in my hotel vicinity?
Appreciate any contributions
I have a question related to the Dubai airport.
I might buy a flight landing at 10.40 am at Dubai airport terminal 1 coming from Kabul (Safi airlines). 80 minutes after the landing (at noon) I would have a connection flight departing from terminal 2 (flydubai) to Djibouti. Do you think I would have the time to get the connection flight or you think most probably not because terminal 2 is too far from terminal 1 and they still need to bring my 30 kgs. suitcase, etc.?
Thanks for your input
Hello
We are thinking of staying in a 3 bedroom apartment and just wondered if anyone can give some feedback on what they are like. Also how far is this property from Dubai Mall.
Thank you
Hi,
I am hoping to solicit some advice, any advice from all of you.
I am travelling to Dubai at the end of April 26-29 with my one year old.
What are your suggestions on accommodations? Hotel or apartment style?
Should we be close to the mall, the creek, downtown, airport? Should we rent a car or do we taxi it everywhere?
I am really at a loss for where to start - I am thinking with a baby, leaving very early in the morning isn't going to happen - I am not sure what time rush hour is but if we aren't going to be hitting it would renting a car be a better option?
How about accomodations that include breakfast - will this be a lot easier for me with the baby or is food readily available and fairly inexpensive?
One thing I know for sure I would like to purchase while in Dubai is saffron - do any of you know where I can get pure real saffron? Also what else would be worth buying in Dubai? A girlfriend of mine asked if I could purchase her some fashionable earrings.
Thank you in advance and please forgive my many questions.
Oh I would like to not spend more than $150 per night on accommodations but if we can go really inexpensive and still be safe and happy that would be even better.

Will I need to go through customs or security or need to collect my luggage etc. Any answers would be appreciated.

I am travelling to Dubai (UAE) and then to Singapore (flights on Emirates) for a cruse from Singapore to Dubai (on Royal Carribean). Because I am from Canada, I need a visa for the UAE. UAE does not allow anyone to have two visas at the same time. So I have arranged to have the second visa issued by email after I leave Dubai the first time, and I can get it by Email on the boat. (and as backup, they will deliver a copy to me when I arrive in Dubai). My travel agent says that Royal Caribbean will not allow us on the boat without a visa. Does anyone have experience with this. Will Royal Caribbean allow us on?
Thanks Frustrated Tom
