I was a UAE resident with sharjah visa. However, I left Dubai 3 years ago for good. I was a student. Haven't been in Dubai for more than 6 months and my visa expired in June 2013. I want to book emirates to fly to London. I have to stop and change flights in Dubai. Do I need to be worried about the visa?
Hi Guys, I am a resident of Ireland planning to visit Dubai this August with my wife and kids (2 boys - 8 yr & 4 yr old). First time travelling to middle east for holidays. Mainly have visiting places, shopping, food etc in mind. I am a Non-Smoker and non-drinker. NOT into sun-bathing, desert safari etc.
1. What would be the climate like in August in Dubai? My kids are only accustomed to cold climate.
2. Could you suggest few good family friendly hotels pref near Dubai airport? Room rate?
3. Could the debit cards from Ireland be used to pay for hotels etc and to get local currency to pay taxis etc?
4. What would be the approx per day cost for hiring a taxi with a taxi driver (who knows every nook and corner) for roaming around?
5. Could you suggest any places of interest for kids?
6. Any dont's in Dubai?
Appreciate any help....
I would like to know how much it cost the bus ticket from Dubai to Kuwait, and how many daily departure ?

My husband and I are travelling to Dubai in early April and will be staying 4 nights. I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some questions I have:
What will the weather be like?
We have a choice between the following hotels:
Sheraton Dubai Mall of Emirates
Hilton Dubai Creek
Four Points Bur Dubai
Four points by sheraton Downtown
Which would be the best and most convenient for getting around the city?
We have the following tours included
city of merchants tour
sundowner dune dinner
Are we better off doing a full day desert tour and exploring the city on our own?
Are any other tours recommended
and finally, recommendations on what to see?
I think that's it!!
Thanks in advance

During my last trip, I stayed at Discovery Gardens (near Jebel Ali) which was very far from city. This time, I've decided to stay in city and will be spending few days in Deira & Burj Dubai. Last time, I visited Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Jumeirah beach.
Pls advice which places I can cover near by Deira & Burj Dubai which I missed during last time. Also, pls advice a good place for shopping (if anything special in Dubai to buy)

Last time when I visited Dubai (from 21st to 25th Feb), the DSF was completed and I didnt buy too much from shops/mall (except Duty free shop).
This time, I have booked my ticked on 18th Feb and will be back on 24th. I heard from someone that duration of DSF has extended till Feb end.
Can any one suggest whether it is true because as per my knowledge, it completed in month of Jan end. This time, I would like to do some shopping like shoes, watches, gold, perfumes, and don't know from where I have to buy it.
Hence, pls guide me the proper place/shopping mall from where I can get all these stuff together which can save my time. Also, pls let me know abt DSF in brief if possible

My boyfriend and I will be traveling from the United States to Dubai for 10 days. We are US citizens and are very excited about this vacation. We will be arriving in Dubai on February 6th, 2014 and plan on spending a few days at some point in Abu Dhabi as well.
With that said we have a issue that could really use your expertise and guidance. At this point we still have not booked our Hotel.......YIKES!!!!!!!
My boyfriend always waits until the last minute but it's starting to stress me out. I just want to get a hotel booked so I can start researching the surrounding area and attractions.
So here's the deal, my boyfriend will be working on a company project at times during our stay so there will be a couple days that I will be entertaining myself. We want to stay somewhere nice, safe, centralized, yet affordable!!!!
I have been researching different hotels online but It is so hard to determine if it's in a good location or if the hotel website is really legit with what they advertise.
I figure who better to ask for hotel recommendations. Like I mentioned previously We want to stay somewhere upscale, clean, new, nice, safe, centralized, yet affordable!!!!
Thank you in advance for your help and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

i am travelling with my husband, my 5 and 1 year old children. we have a stopover at dubai airport approx for 8 hours-(6:20am 14:45pm. Thursday 12 June), in which we need to check in 1.30 hr, 90 mins ahead for our next flight.
so in 8 hrs we have 5 hrs left.
Now we only want to see the dubai aquarium and head back to the airport, as my son is begging for it now (after the ticket being booked).
When i checked the time to reach the aquarium from the airport it say 25 mins max in heavy traffic. So lets say 1 hour goes away in travel,
so we have 4 hrs left.
1. i don't know how long it will take us to clear from the airport and move to the city.
2. and how long will it take in the aquarium?
3, Though we have only one place to visit Is it doable?
