I am travelling to Dubai next week for a work trip and I will have the evenings free all week, any suggestions on things I can do (safely) on my own (female!) I would like to see some of the best sights of Dubai but I have no idea where to start. I am staying near the Dubai World Trade Centre.
I have a stopover of 2 hrs at Dubai Airport. I would like to know if it is advisable to buy 22k gold jewellery while I am at the airport. I would like to get feedback on the following:
-Price ? Is it more than outside ? They probably don't bargain at the airport shops ?
- Reliability ? Is it safe to buy it from the airport shops ? Obviously, I don't want to be duped.
I am new to Dubai going there with my family (me, wife and 3sons)

Thanks very much
Arrive at 13:20 on a Friday at DBX and leave next day at 3:50 (am) next morning - 14hr 30min to Cape Town. Do I collect my luggage when I first arrive as i have booked into a close by hotel?
Thank you, RT
I apologize as I'm sure this is answered somewhere, but I can't find it. My wife and I are looking to travel by bus (E100 from Al Ghubaiba) to Abu Dhabi later this month (and then a return trip to Dubai a few days later).
1. Luggage--we will both have a backpack and suitcase. Are we allowed to transport luggage on the bus?
2. Tickets--do we buy tickets on the bus or somewhere else? I'm assuming we don't need to get tickets in advance due to the frequency of the bus service.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I am flying to dubai tomorrow. I wanted to get my haird cut before but unfortunately I didn't have the time to do that.
The first hotel I'll stay at is not far away from the Burj Khalifa so I wonder if you know a good hairdresser in this area as I want to get my hair cut the day I arrive. It's much more comfortable to stay there with short hair :)
Thanks in advance :)
