Hello all, I have 2 questions: We will stay for a week at the end of September in Dubai. We like the view of the sea and to swim and we would like to find a hotel in a neighborhood close to the sea and not too far from the city and shopping malls. Our budget is limited. Hotels under 100 dollar a night. Any suggestions which part we should choose? We have Israel stamps from out travelling in our passports. I did not read it is a problem. For sure its no problem? Thanks in advance, Ron The Netherlands.
Hi, Tourism starts picking up around September, and so do the hotel rates! To be close to the sea and city, I'd suggest somewhere north of Dubai creek, to access Al Mamzar beach in the north. The hotels around Jumeirah beach are pricier & you have more limited transport options to get around (mainly taxis), although there is a bus serving Jumeirah road. The malls closer to there, though at least 2 miles away are Mall of the Emirates, then Dubai Mall (by Khalifa), Ibn Battuta (further out). If you choose north of the Creek, you can opt for the Sheraton or Hilton by the creek itself, or the Hyatt. These hotels have complimentary shuttles taking you to Al Mamzar beach, plus you can take the local bus to Jumeirah. Many metro stations scattered around to take you go other malls, eg MoE, Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta. Ras Al Khor sanctuary past Wafi mall is a good retreat. Nearest malls are Emirates Mall (airport), Deira, Lamcy, Wafi, Burjuman. The fantastic Dubai Museum & Heritage village are right opposite off the creek, and so are the Gold, Spice, Textile souks :-) Enjoy Dubai :-)

UAE GOV has not issue with an Isreal stamp on your passport. But if bit worry why not contact the UAE Embassy in your home country http://www.uae-embassy.nl/ have a lovely trip to Dubai.

Hi from Dubai, Hotels under 100 dollars a night AND near the beach is not possible... not in Dubai, and probably not really in any other tourist cities by the ocean either. The closest I can think is perhaps the Holiday Inn Express Jumeirah? For budget travellers, this could be a good option: You are in a very central location, also not far from the beach, but you will not have good views (ship port opposite hotel). hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/d... You can take a short walk up to Diyafah Street (well, now called 2nd December Street) where there are many shops and traditional restaurants, or you walk along Jumeirah Beach Road to the beach (or take a short taxi ride). Otherwise, there are plenty of hotels on the beach itself, but these are 5-star and 95% of them are located "outside" of the centre of the city, down near the Burj Al Arab and further away.
