    • South Africa Safari options with a 5.5 yr old

South Africa Oct 27, 2015 at 12:52 PM

We are trying to plan a trip to SA from the US with our 5.5 yr old son for my 40th birthday. I (and he) really want to do several game drives. Are we not going to be able to since he is less than 6? Any recommended hotels/reserves where we can see the most?

Also, I had heard that we didn't need yellow fever vaccinations for SA, is this true? What about malaria? We lived in India for almost a decade, so are used to being cautious with wearing long sleeves, etc

Any advice on where to go in SA would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are mostly looking at Capetown and a safari somewhere.

I am planning for 2 day trip to drakensberg from Durban. Kindly suggest cheap decent places to stay and how should I plan my outing.
I would be travelling with my own car. Where can I get the guided 4x4 to go up the snowy road.
Also which are the must see places that I should cover?

If my stay in SA extends I might visit again, but for now lets just put I am gng to DBerg for 2 days.

I've never been to the Drakensberg and am looking to do a fun activity like walking, see some wildlife/birds, and then maybe have lunch afterwards. What can you suggest?

Goodday. I would like to bring a group of 20 people (including kids) to Mountain Splendor as day visitors. Kindly assist me with the following:
      1. Can we bring our own picnic basket and have a picnic? Costs?
      2. Do you have a pool, which the kids can make use of for the day?
      3. Do you have a restaurant where we could have lunch, should we prefer and what is the costs? Also what time is lunch?
      4. What other facilities are there?
      5. What times do the gates open and close?
The date that we want to visit you is 26 December 2008.
      Thank you kindly
