My friend and I will be house sitting in June for 2 weeks in Dorking. Can anyone advise whether the following areas can be accessed easily by car or even public transport - Sissinghurst gardens, Brighton, Southampton, coastal walking tracks. Any interesting areas would be greatly accepted.. Thanks
visitdorking.com/ei_ideas_fo... will give you some ideas. With a car you will have no problems visiting the places you wish to see (apart from the usual problems of traffic congestion, parking etc). theaa.com/route-planner/inde... will allow you to explore routes/distances and times (and provide printable routes if you want). You might choose to take the train to some places rather than drive. www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you train times, details and fares. Most specific sites will have webpages giving access directions by car and by public transport. Here is the Sissinghurst page: nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-... Details under 'getting there' on the left-hand menu. I'm sure you will find lots of places to walk, visit and explore. :-)

Here's the National Trust website for the South-east nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-... Don't miss Wakehurst Place if gardens are your thing. Chichester's lovely, so is Rye.

If you like gardens then Wisley RHS gardens may be of interest. rhs.org.uk/WhatsOn/Gardens/W...
