Can any one give me any information on accomodation facilities between Iringa and Arusha - camping, guest houses any information will be helpful as we are aware that the distance is to far to travel in one day.
Hi, It's been a while (6 years) since I lived in Tanzania - but there's not a lot between Arusha and Iringa. If you want to camp you could travel through the Massai Steppe - there is a lot of room, not too many people (mostly just the Massai), a good few animals and wonderful views. You will need to take everything with you and have a good airmap and a GPS. Also fuel. Turn off at Monduli for Lolkisale then go to Orkesumut and then to Kibaya and then down to the Dodoma road about 70km east of Dodoma. It does help if you speak Kiswahili... but go for it anyway. I have spent a lot of time in the Steppe and its wonderful. If you need any more pointers email me.
