Hi, I am thinking of visiting Djibouti in December 2010. I am a UK passport holder and would like some information please. 1. Can I get a visa on arrival at Djibouti Airport? And if so, how much will it cost and how much hassle will it be to get it, i.e. will I be pushed from one end of the airport to the other to get such and such a form signed and stamped? 2. Is it possible to hire a taxi driver/guide (who can speak a little English because my French is rather poor) for a few hours to show me around the sites of the city? 3. What is the general 'hassle factor' in Djibouti-ville? Is it like some places where as soon as you step out into the street, you're accosted by touts and swindlers? 4. How long does the airport - hotel transfer usually take? 5. Is it okay to take photos or are there any restrictions? Looking forward to reading any replies! Jason
Thank you so much.

Hi there! I went to Djibouti a few years ago & confirm that you need to brush up on your French a bit. Very few people speak English. Also take euros, not dollars or pounds (You'll get a better rate) Not too much hassle in the streets or even the main market. Prepare yourself for extreme contrast between dirty slums and European-style hotels (not many of them). Feel free to look at my Djibouti pages/ask more questions. A
