Hi there, my son and i are visiting Braga in Oct 2011. We would love to stay in a family home or small intimate place in the old part of town. Is there anything like that? we prefer this type of setting rather than a hotel. Also, any ideas about visiting the futbol stadium? I couldn't find much on the internet. My son is obsessed with futbol and braga has a particularly beautiful stadium. Thanks so much. :-) we are really excited about our visit. Rebecca
Hello dear travelers and locals, I was going to Guimaraes for a business trip next month. I was looking through different airlines to purchase a ticket, and the one I liked will arrive at Porto at 23:50 at night. Will I be able to go to Guimaraes at this time by train or bus? What is the operating time of public transports in that area? If anyone could answer, I would be grateful. Thank you.
Hi! How much time I need to visit the Bom Jesus Santuary (I will go by car)? Thank you
Hello I am arriving on a Monday afternoon at Oporto Airport and would like to continue on to Braga by public transport. What is the most convenient way to travel from Oporto Airport to Braga by public transportation? Thank you for your help!
Our family, with three children under 6, have a chance to spend the summer in Portugal. We are looking to stay by the beach and have an easy commute by public transport to Braga. I'd appreciate any tips on finding a location which is near a beach but also has a bustling town life. Also, are there any companies which look after renting out villas (reasonably priced) that you could recommend?
We are hoping to visit the Douro Valley and were interested where best to stay. Also what are the highlights. We do not want to do be with lots of tourists and we will have our own car. Thankyou
OK, now I'm getting in trouble. I was planning to spend one day visiting Guimaraes - then took a second look at the Guimaraes and Braga lines from Porto: cp.pt/cp/displayPage.do?vgne... It looks like if I left Porto around 7:30 AM, I could be in Guimaraes until around 1:30 PM. I don't like to spend time eating lunch, I usually bring something with me, so I would have abour 5 hours in Guimaraes. Then I could travel back to Trofa, and get on the train to go to Braga. I could be in Braga for about four hours, then head back to Porto. Comments? If this is doable, sensible, not way too rushed, is there a way to purchase the tickets to include all the segments? (Porto - Guimaraes, Guimaraes-Trofa, Trofa-Braga, Braga-Porto). Obrigada!
Have decided to visit Guimaraes as a side trip from Porto. Is it easy to get from Porto to Guimaraes? It appears that the train connections change, so I do not know if there is a better way. Once in Guimaraes, is it also a place where tourists get hassled? Is it OK to go as a woman traveling alone using public transportation? There is an option of a tour that goes to Braga and Guimaraes (yuk) - but I will consider it if going on my own will be a hassle. Any experiences/advise/suggestions?
Hello, Does anyone know the timetable of the buses from Braga to Guimaraes, specially during weekend days? I can access by Internet only Rodonorte buses, but I know there are other options, which I cannot consult by websites. Thanks for your attention.
