We are staying in Exeter in November on a girls weekend. We are looking for somewhere to go on a Saturday night. Ideally somewhere that is open late with music that we can dance to but not a full on club, a bar with music and an area for dancing would be great but with the option to sit and chat as well. Anyone know what the Monkey Suit is like? Or any other suggestions welcome.
I'm traveling from Chicago to Tavistock for a family wedding next week, and plan, at this point, to take one of the local buses from the National Express bus station to Tavistock. I want to have a plan B in case I'm too exhausted to drag my baggage to the bus stop. What is the approximate fare to take a taxi from the station in Plymouth City Center to Tavistock?
Hi, what indoor activities is there in dawlisg or near by?
Am shortly taking a short break at Ilfracombe, having never visited before. As traveling via train, I have a pick up from Barnstable to Ilfracombe on my outward journey but would like to know the best transport from Ilfracombe to Barnstable train station on my return. Thank you for any help.
My partner and I are looking for a place to stay in Devon for around 10 days that is relatively 'central'. By this I mean we will be in the middle of a travel web North and South and on relatively good roads. We are considering Beer (because we prefer small, but not too small) and Exeter (because it seems central). We are wary of picking somewhere that looks accessible, but from which we will have to spend 30-45 minutes on tiny laneways just to get out / in. A year or so back we stayed in Falmouth in Cornall, which was exactly what we wanted - a good size with lots of pubs and restaurants, beautiful and a good choice of accommodation. It was also easy to get just about anywhere in Cornwall from there. We fell in love and are looking for similar in Devon. Any suggestions? Also, specifically, what are roads in and out of Beer like? Thanks :).

There will be my aunt & Uncle..in there seventies, my father, my cousin, myself and partner in there 50's....any idea ? we plan to visit in September thanks Brian...Australia

Hello. I plan to stay in Exeter from July 25th to September 30th, so I am looking for accommodation during the summer. Therefore I'd like to know where I can find a list of accommodations for rent. Most sites (like accommodationforstudents.com... require me to be a student at the University of Exeter, so that I can log in and apply for rooms. Or the rooms are only available during the academic year. Now I am becoming a bit desperate and I am looking for other sites/sources to find a suitable place to stay. I really appreciate any helpful advice. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone stayed at The Ruby in Holsworthy? I can't find any reviews anywhere. Please help.

Hello and happy New Year, I will be staying in Devon in middle January, arriving on the 15th, I am planning to meet a VT member in Exeter for a drink on the 15th (evening). My other plans are to visit Exmouth (I will probably be staying with my sister) and Barnstaple, a place I know little about execept it's the country town of North Devon. If the South Devon Railway is running from Totnes to Buckfastleigh is running I may go there on the 16th. Can anyone advise me of a good eating place in Barnstaple please. It is always nice meeting VT people. Please see the meeting page Jonathan Barker
Hello. I am going to stay in Exeter for about 3-4 months and therefore I am looking for a cheap possibility to stay in contact with my friends and to call people in the UK. I think a prepaid-SIM suits my needs. Can anyone recommend a good provider or has experience with Nomi or TalkMobile? Furthermore I need internet access (most probably mobile broadband) and I would be glad for any suggestions. Thanks and regards, homunculus

How do I get from St. Davids railway station to Exeter Airport on Monday 31st December, to be there for 10am?
I’m working in Plymouth next week (Mon-Fri) I’ve been before but I really don’t know the place. I will be finished by mid-afternoon and looking for something to do in the evening, music (folk in particular) theatre or just good pubs, anything I aint fussy. Anyone got any ideas or I am expecting too much it being mid week and early November?
We are driving from Gatwick to Cornwall and back September 2008. We will stay in about 5 key locations and make day trips out to see as much as we can. Any advice or suggestions on Cornwall, Dorset and Devon will be appreciated.
Hi, I am planning a trip around the south of England and I would very much like to spend a night in Lundy. However, time is quite limited and we can only spend either the 12th or the 13th of April there, and there seems to be no boat service to the island on these dates (its a thursday and a friday). Does anybody know if you can get smaller, charter boats to take you to the island? I have found one website about this but they don't give much info at all.. Any help would be appreciated.
