death valley flooding

i have just read about the terrible storms to hit death valley,causing the rangers to close the park. apparently visitors to furness creek had to be evacuated and many of the roads have been severly damaged. the storms hit on about the 16th and police believe it caused the death of at least two people. quite worrying seeing that we intended visiting soon. anybody know anymore.
