My child and friends are visiting Dayton, OH. The plan to be lodging within 8 miles North or possibly South of the University of Dayton Arena. Is this area a safe place for them to stay? They plan to be lodging and eating in the same areas.
I put your question to a friend of mine who lives in Dayton. Her reply: There's a hotel directly across from the UD arena, with nothing at all in walking distance except UD arena. 8 miles south is the Dayton Mall, with lots of motels and eateries. 8 miles north (nearer to me) is less desirable as there are fewer hotels, motels and eateries.
