Hi, Does anyone know whether I can go directly to Sandakphu by car/jeep and start my trek there to Phalut? Or do I really have to start in Maneybhanjang? Thanks!
You can visit Sandakfu by car.However the road condition is really bad and when you come back... you have to take bed rest for sure :D .Its risky too. It will gift you pain and devoid you of enjoying the nature.If you want to enjoy Sandakfu....go walking. You can get down at Maneybhanjan or you can also go a little further and get down at Dhotre and start the trek. You can do Sandakphu Trek in the below mentioned route: Day1: Maney to Tonglu/Tumling. Day2 :Tonglu/Tumling to Kalipokhri. Day3:Kalipokhri to Sandakphu. If you start from Dhotrey instead then it can be shortened to 2 days: Day1 : Dhotrey to Gauribas. Day2: Gauribas to Sandakphu(around 13kms). We are also planning to go there in 2nd week of march. If you plan after that ,I will provide you more info.
