Hi - Darjeeling is another wonderful place. Be sure to take a ride on the "toy" train. Also - dress warmly, it will be cold in December. Please take a look at my Darjeeling page for more details..."A Little Piece of Heaven in India" - Darjeeling by Donna_in_India

Hi Donna thanks once again - bookmarked your relevant travel page as well. My 8 year old is certainly going to enjoy the toy train! Kind regards

Its a very beautiful place.. I will recommend you two places. Must visit Dhoom Gompa, its near Darjeeling. There a very beautiful statue of the Maitrayie Buddha is established. Also visit Observatory Hill which is also known as “Makal-Babu-Ko-Thaan” oldest site of Darjeeling.

I have visited Darjeeling a couple of time but that was about 20 years back. Toy train is good but will eat up a day and might be overcrowded. Do not miss the sun rise in Tiger hill , though I am not sure if you can make it in December. Dhoom monastry is another must see and take a walk in the mall .... hope they still have the horse rides .
