Hi ,what is the best bar in Cavtat?
We are an older couple staying 2 nights at the end of a cruise in May. My husband tires easily. Looking for a guest house close to the old city - less hilly if possibloe.
Hi,
I am planning my vacation from late September to early October from Dubrovnik to Korcula, from Korcula to Hvar, and from Hvar to Split. I went on the Jadrolinja website and it shows sailing dates from Dubrovnik to Korcula only for 9/26 and 9/29. I guess the saling schedule after September is not yet available. I am leaving Dubrovnik for Korcula on 9/29 anyway so that is not my main concern. My main concern is planning the ferry connections from Korcula to Hvar and from Hvar to Split since I need to make the reservations for the pensions now. Are there ferries other than Jadrolinja that operate from Korcula and from Hvar? Based on your past expriences, are there daily ferries in early Octrober from Korcula to Hvar and from Hvar to Split?
Thanks
We are staying at a villa in Mlini in early June and was wondering if its possible to get a ferry or boat to Dubrovnik from Mlini marina? If so approx how frequently and how much?? Thanks
Hello, i am trying to find out how we can travel from Novi Sad to Dubrovnik in July. We would rather travel overnight if possible and we want to avoid flying.
I know there are no trains to Dubrovnik but I cannot find decent bus services.
I have considered changing in Sarajevo or Bar in Montenegro. Can someone help me please? Thanks!
Hello, me and my friends will be travelling from Novi Sad in July. We will be getting a train to Bar, where we hope to spend a few hours before moving onto Dubrovnik. Can you tell me if there is a bus from Bar to Dubrovnik?
Is it possible in May /June to travel from Greece to Croatia by any form kf sea transport without having to cross over to Italy???
We are going to take a day trip via bus to kotor from Dubrovnik in April, during the week. Can we purchase round trip bus tickets at the station in Dubrovnik or do we have to purchase the return in kotor? We are coming from the USA so we won't have euros with us (obviously we will get some if needed ), but thought it might be simpler just to buy the whole ticket with Croatian currency.
We are going to have a driver for a full day for a day trip to mostar--wanted to see if there were any interesting sights along the way we should look at--we are also going to medjugore. Nothing very time consuming or out of the way, but something easily accessible.
So we have 6 nights in Dubrovnik , the first two days will be spent just strolling about Dubrovnik, climbing the walls, souvenir shopping and eating seafood. The third day will be a day trip to kotor, the fourth day a day trip to mostar and medjugore (our day will start early, but as we have two little ones, it turns out best to not spend the night in mostar as we initially wanted). The fourth day is then free, we will be tired from our long day the day before, but wanted to see if anyone knew of anything in particular that might be interesting to see (maybe just a cab ride away). The sixth day we plan to go to lokrum island.
I had some good suggestions on stuff to see and like comments on my trip:: Ferry into Split [already booked] First 2 nites at Hosel Alpinelo[already booked] so from Spit to Hvar--a few days to Korcula --few days Dubrovnik a few days with trip Mjet Dubrov to Budva & Kotor --a few days to Sarajevo --a few days Head back to Dubrov with a nite stop in Mostar Then to Zargreb via a stop in Zadar From Zargreb be getting close to return to Rome via Venice and Florence----time into Split April 23 and like to be in Venice May 30/31---thats it !!!
Can i have a few suggestions for day trips both full and half day please and as i wont have a car i would have to use local busses I am interested in old villages with lovely old buildings and town squares Thanks for some advise
Thinking about going to lopud from Dubrovnik for the day on a Friday in April, looks like the ferry leaves at 10 am and leaves later at 6pm. Just wondering what there is to do besides the beach--we would be there with our two little ones, so 7 hours at the beach is too long.
Just wanted to confirm if anyone can help, that there is a daily bus from Dubrovnik to kotor that leaves at 10am and there is a daily return ride from kotor to Dubrovnik that leaves at 5pm? Also that the ride is about one hour and 50 minutes? Thank you!
1. Thinking about going to Dubrovnik late April, I know that is shoulder season and that Dubrovnik is always crowded, but I wanted to make sure it's not too crowded--like can you at least sit down in a restaurant without a long wait for a table? We have been in both Venice and santorini during shoulder season, and it was crowded with the cruise ship people during the day, but not too bad. 2. Are there railings on the stairs up to the wall? My son would be four when we go and I know will looooove to climb these stairs over and over and we will obviously be watching him, but wanted to ask nonetheless about railings.
Does anyone know the name of the photographer who used to sell his photos in the square in Dubrovnik. I think he was working there a couple of years ago..Many thanks
I have read that many restaurants and activities are shut in mid-Nov. Is this true? What will the weather be like?
I have researched that the average high temperature in Dubrovnik in July is approximately 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Has anyone ever experienced temperatures higher than that, like in the 90's in July? If we take our family vacation next year in July, we don't want to go anywhere hot, as where we live is hot about 6 months of the year, like the vast majority of the day is in the mid ninety degrees or higher. Temperatures in the low 80s is not hot to us.
Can anyone tell me how long the journey is from Dubrovnik to Ston by bus? Where does the bus depart from in Dubrovnik? Many thanks Jane
Hi all We are headed to Cavtat for a week next month. This will be our third visit and we love the peacefulness of the the place. We will probably go to Dubrovnik for a day but were wondering what else we could do in the area. The Elafiti Islands sound like a definite - what is the best way to get there from Cavtat? I know there are several places at the harbour that do boat trips to the islands - are they worth going with and are they fairly regular? Any other ideas? We have been to Mostar and Montenegro on organised tours and have no real interest in going to Medjugorje. We will not have a hire car so we will be relying on public transportation. Many thanks, Jane
We are an active senior couple from the USA who will be visiting in Dubrovnik on Friday September 7th. We would enjoy meeting an English-speaking resident or couple who would like to show us around your city/town and hopefully create a friendship. Learning about your culture and way of life is of interest to us. And this is a good way to create peace in the world. If interested and free that day, please post a reply. No professional tour-guides, please.
I would like to walk at least part of the city walls in Dubrovnik. I have a little difficulty walking without stopping to get off my feet for a minute or two every fifteen minutes or so. Are there any benches, low walls etc where I could take the weight off my feet for a short time? Thanks. Alan
Hi My husband and myself are visiting Cavtat the first week in September and staying at the Iberostar Albatros. Is there anywhere we can hire bicycles for a couple of days and what is there that is worth cycling to within 10 miles? Would we need the bikes to go into Cavtat or is it really near? Thanks Jan
Hi there, Can anyone advise how we can book Villa Banac for our wedding ceremony? We have tried looking online and have found no websites. We don't have a wedding planner as we are trying to do this all ourselves to save cost. WE don't need any officials as we are just having a blessing (the legal marriage will take place in the UK before we leave) so are just looking to hire the place for around 80 guests. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks, Andrea & Luke
We are on a cruise with a stop in Dubrovnik. We would like to walk the walls and are wondering how to access them from the port? I heard there is a cable car with amazing views. Will that get us up to the wall. Can we walk from the port to the cable car? Thanks
