      Anyone up for Tibet ?

      Tibet Jan 14, 2015 at 6:31 AM

      Hi everyone !
My name is Juliette, I’m 21 and I’m french. I’m studying art in Suzhou at the moment, but I’ll be taking some time off to travel around China starting the end of january. I have been planning to go to Tibet around the last week of february, but quite honestly, I’m looking for someone (or a group of someones, the more the merrier !) to share the costs with, seeing how the requirements make it quite expensive, and it's always nice to do this kind of trip with someone to share with !
Anyone out there interested in joining me ? :)

      Complete lost! HELP!

Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Jan 23, 2015 at 5:05 AM

My boyfriend and I will travel to China in May. Our plan is to get a train straight to Ulaanbaatar and stay at Mongolia for a week. The only thing is we have no idea what to do and how to travel in Mongolia, we really could use some help.
We are backpackers - which means, low budget travel and seeking for an authentic experience. I know we just got 1 week to spend there, but we would really like to visit the Gobi desert and spent the night at locals house.
      Thank you!!

      10 hour layover tour

      Beijing Jan 6, 2015 at 5:26 PM

I choose a flight with a 12 hour layover intentionally so I could take one of those layover tours in Beijing and visit the great wall of China..

I noticed the tours are "private" so they adapt to your needs.. i have couple of questions.. has anybody has done it and if so which company you used?
will you consider the private tour to be safe for a female solo traveler?

      11-hour layover: what to do

      Shanghai Dec 27, 2014 at 9:43 PM

In late February I have a connection at PVG, with 11 hours between flights. Is there a city tour that leaves from the airport? If not, can I join a tour near the airport? Can I get some Cuban ribs somewhere?.

What travel options are there between Dali (Yunnan) and Myanmar (Burma)?

by alwloch Online Now Sep 11, 2007 at 10:59 PM

I will be heading toward Dali in late October and understand the best time to visit Myanmar and all its Buddhist pagodas is after November. There is only one hostel in the entire country, located in Yagon (Rangoon), as far as I am aware of. Also there is a train but I don't know whether it reaches as far as China or Thailand. Would anyone know the various ways a backpacker could enter Myanmar from Yunnan?

    • HEATED guesthouses/hostels in Dali

by MDTing Online Now Dec 27, 2006 at 11:08 PM

I am travelling from New Zealand with my son who's been teaching English in Chengdu, and will be in Dali in late January.
We are considering these guesthouses/hostels ...can anybody tell me whether they have twin rooms with own bathroom (& western style toilet) that have some kind of HEATING (any other advice on Dali accomodation welcome):

      1. Dali mingtong yingxian hotel, Cai Cun village ...webpage on, but doesn't mention heating.
      2. No 3 Guesthouse (has Korean & Chinese webpage but no English)
      3. Dali Siji (4 Seasons) Inn has webpage on - says Air-conditioning....that means heating in the winter?
      4.Yu'an Garden

Is there enough in Dali to occupy my wife and me for three days? We aren't the type to sit around a cafe and watch the time fly. We more about to see things. Your comments are appreciated.
