Lima to Cuzco- Weather

Will be touring around both cities including Machu Picchu during October 22-26th and need to know as far as clothing which would be better for day touring, shorts, jeans or lightweight pants?

    Hi We were there in early November and the weather was a little cool with some rain . We found light travel pants great. They dried fast and were comfortable. It can get cooler in the evenings too. its good to bring those cheap light plastic rain ponchos too . We got caught in a hard rain one afternoon and it came in handy.
