Playa del Carmen May 21, 2015 at 12:52 PM

Help, I have been researching all inclusive resorts all day in Playa Del Carmen and I am still not sure where to stay. My husband and I are going in October. We want to be around other people and have fun, but want alone time too. We would like to stay where it is tropical and has a Caribbean flavor. We are on a budget but could probably splurge some to stay in a nice resort. We are in our early 50's so were not really into kids. We would like to go into town and if its within walking distance that would be nice, but not a requirement. My husband likes to dive and I like to snorkel. Any suggestions?

by ladykate Online Now May 3, 2010 at 12:46 PM

Hello, I'll be traveling at the end of this month to Cuernavaca to visit a friend. While there I'll have tons of free time on my own, however I speak no Spanish. Are there enough English speakers that I will be able to explore the city on my own? Also, how safe is the city currently for someone such as myself (young, female, obviously American)?

    • Language Schools in Cuernavaca

by starduster Online Now Apr 2, 2009 at 11:51 PM

I'm looking into language schools in the Cuernavaca area for a quick vacation this summer. From the research I've done so far it looks like there are a *ton* of them, and they all look more or less the same. Does anyone have any experience to recommend one of them over the others?

Some details on what I'm looking for:
      - My Spanish level is beginner-intermediate.
      - I can only stay for 1 - 1.5 weeks. I have no illusions of gaining fluency in that time - mostly I'm looking for something to kick-start my Spanish, and have some fun at the same time.
      - Not interested in academic credit.
      - Would be interested in home-stays, field trips, other fun activities, not just sitting in a classroom all day.
      - Medium price range. Do not require 5 star accommodations, but I'm really beyond the back-packer hostel at this point.

Does anyone recognize something from this description that might fit my bill?
      Gracias!

We want to have a memorable vacation and although our budget is somewhat limited it is not that small. Does anyone have any suggestion for a nicer place from a recent visit there ? I remember we stayed in a gorgeous place, unknown to the big tour companies, for like35 a night right near the square. I don't remember what it was called anymore though.
