Hi all,
Can someone tell me which is the cheapest mode of transport from Budapest to Zagreb? I will be travelling in September. From what I read train seems to be the best option available. Or should I consider travelling by bus?
Also,
1. Do I need to book train tickets in advance or is it ok if I book them on the same day?
2. Can anyone provide me timings of the trains from Budapest – Zagreb?
3. Approximate idea of how much would a one way ticket cost.
4. Any other information that may be helpful
Please help.

Hello- my friend and I will be visiting Croatia the last of June, first week of July. Does anyone have a suggestion for how we should manage (ie itinerary) these things we would like to do: Split, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Plitivice, Hvar...any other islands we should see? We would like to maybe have one day in Venice- can we get a ferry from Croatia to Venice? Is there time to make a stop in Slovenia? I'd like to drive, my friend doesn't seem to want to...how timely & reliable are the busses? Is there a Plitvice tour from Zagreb- with transportation service? I apologize for so many questions....I'm just used to train service and am concerned about using busses. Thanks in advance for any advice! TexaFrance
HI,
There are several comments on the subject but I am still confused so troubling you all once again. Wanted to make a pit stop at Plitvice on my way from Zagreb to Split by bus.
1. Is it advisable or do I run the risk of not finding bus from plitvice for Split?
2. Will the bus drop me all the way to Plitvice? If not, how do I reach from where bus drops me?
3. Which entrance should I use? (I believe there are 2 entrances)
4. Is there any provision to keep my luggage safely while roaming in the park?
Any other advice or thing I should consider? I would be traveling there in September.
Thanks in advance!!
Hi, can anyone tell me if there are ferries between Jelsa and Bol that aren't provided by Jadrolinija?
I need to get from Jelsa to Bol, but Jadrolinija's ferries depart too early in the morning (06:00 /07:30). I would like to have some kind of transportation around 08:30 / 09:30).
Is this possible? What are my alternatives? Do you know the cost?
Thank you in advance!

We are an older couple staying 2 nights at the end of a cruise in May. My husband tires easily. Looking for a guest house close to the old city - less hilly if possibloe.
Hi,
I am planning my vacation from late September to early October from Dubrovnik to Korcula, from Korcula to Hvar, and from Hvar to Split. I went on the Jadrolinja website and it shows sailing dates from Dubrovnik to Korcula only for 9/26 and 9/29. I guess the saling schedule after September is not yet available. I am leaving Dubrovnik for Korcula on 9/29 anyway so that is not my main concern. My main concern is planning the ferry connections from Korcula to Hvar and from Hvar to Split since I need to make the reservations for the pensions now. Are there ferries other than Jadrolinja that operate from Korcula and from Hvar? Based on your past expriences, are there daily ferries in early Octrober from Korcula to Hvar and from Hvar to Split?
Thanks
Will be staying here in May. Is there a reliable bus service to Plitvice lakes entrances from here?
We are hoping to visit Croatia in the 3rd or 4th week of September. Can anyone advise on the best area that has lively bars and restaurants but also culture and beauty. We like to have fun but also relax and enjoy the sights. Also do places start to close for the season around this time ??
thanks for any advice

Hi! We are planning to have a holiday in Dalmatia on late august early september, for about 10-11 days. We have two small children (1,5 and 4yo) but are regular travellers used to getting around. We are looking to have a nice holiday and see as much of Dalmatia as possible while still feeling also on beeing on holiday. Previously we have done holidays with rental car / 1-2 night per stop. But not sure if this is the best approach in Dalmatia with all the islands? Would it be possible to plan a trip using only public transport / ferries, or does it get too limiting?
We are flying to/from Split. As we are not at all familiar with Croatia I'd be happy to get any kind of possible suggestion for the trip stuctrure, where to go, what to see. We are mostly interested seeing pictoresque places of the area, both city / nature, not interested in museums, bars, nightlife etc. As we are travelling with 2 small children we obviously might need some good peacefull beaches along the way and can't do 20km hikes on the rugged paths (some 2-5km might be ok). We don't want to plan our trip based on most visited places but rather would want to know what places would be worth it from the perspective of someone who lives there.
Thankfull for any suggestions, more or less detailed,
Mika
Is May a good time to visit and what type of weather can you expect to experience travelling between Zagreb and Dubrovmik
We will are planning a trip to Split in September and would like to visit Hvar too. We will arrived Split from Zadar and have 2 nights to spare. Wondering if it is worthwile to stay a night in Hvar or just do a day trip from Split.
It all depends on the available daily timings of the ferry & catamaran from Split to Hvar and back from Hvar to Split, as then we will know how much sightseeing time we have in Hvar as a day trip.
Appreciate if anyone can help with providing us with the sailing time-table for Sept 2013
Thank you all in advance
