In 3 weeks, I will be returning to Crawley on business for the week. We stayed in the IBIS last time, but my business partner wants something (1) a little more upscale, and (2) within walking distances of places to eat and drink. Note that we will be there a week, so the preference is more than one place to walk to ;-) I am looking at the Arora which seems to fit most of the wishlist, although the 15 pound per day Internet fee is ridiculous - that's got to be the highest hotel Internet fee in the world! Anyway, two questions: 1. Anyone have recent experience with the Arora (I've already been over to Tripadvisor). 2. Any other suggestions in Crawley itself that present themselves? Bill
I've not stayed in Crawley but, if I did, I'd want something more....erm...traditional? Like The George. Have a look at www.booking.com anyway:you have more than a few choices. And 15GBP for internet access is a rip-off, plain and simple (and a good reason not to go near that hotel, imo).

Yeah, J, you should go over to Tripadvisor and look at the reviews for the George...I think the average comment was "horrible". Either the George has a lot of unsatisfied customers, or every other hotel in town has paid someone to put up some really awful reviews ;-) Bill

Hmmm.....that's a bit of a poser then. Have a look at booking.com though....there are alternatives. But with Crawley being so near Gatwick....well.....over-priced UK airport hotels. Need I say more?

And I am always truly wary of TA reviews, if honest.
