Need help with choosing self-catering accomodations

by janetmt Online Now Mar 10, 2011 at 8:35 PM

Hi there,
We are looking to stay in Co. Meath for a week from July 2nd to July 9th with our two kids, ages 2 and 10. We are looking for self-catering accomodation. We want somewhere that would be central for touring Newgrange, Castle Trim etc. but also an under 2 hour trip to Belfast. We also want somewhere from where we can get a train or bus into Dublin easily since we don't want to drive in the city. We have narrowed it down to three different places:

The Courtyard Holiday Home in Bettystown
The Anchorage Apartments also in Bettystown
And, Knightsbrook Holiday Homes in Trim.

Can anyone tell me anything about this places or even recommend another?
With thanks,
Janet

Trim is a lovely town but imo one day would be sufficient to visit the castle and take the lovely walk along the river Boyne to Newtown Abbey. I don't know any of the accommodations personally but overall I would choose Bettystown as a location. It is very close to the M1 for access to Dublin and Belfast, also near the town of Drogheda and it has a magnificent coastal location so should apeal to the kids for playing/swimming.
