Lodging Costa Rica's Pacific Northwest

We've signed up for a 4-day package adventure with a company in the La Fortuna area in mid-March but want to spend another 3 or 4 days just hanging somewhere not too expensive, maybe on a Pacific Northwest beach? Figure we might fly into Libera rather than San Jose because of the proximity. Any suggestions on a not-so-expensive, but nice plan place under100 for mom, dad and their 19-yr-old son? Is that unreasonable? What then is?
