Again to Corsica.. Bonifacio or Porto Vecchio? With 8 yr old kid?

After visiting corsica in 2009 (Calvi) and Sardina in 2010 (Alghero) we want to go to Corsica again. I loved both mensioend towns, and looking for something simulair. So; a nice old village, with (fishing..) harbor, shops, resaurants, beaches.. Bonifacio seems great, but I know the beaches are not within walking distance. Is Porto Vecchio a good alernative? We always hire a car, but cant drive for hours due tp the curvy roads there abnd the carsickness of daughter.
