Hello, we are a bunch of guys who would like to visit NZ. We have a lot of general information but we would like to have some info about spots who are worthwhile seeing and not commercially exploited Is there some one who could give us some spots??? Thanks in advance
Whangamata is a good town to resupply and to get necessaries as the rest of Coromandel can be remote. Whitianga is a town with services too. When you travel from Tairua to Whitianga be sure to go towards the sea and visit the following beaches which are not on the main road: Hot Water Beach (truly hot water at low tide!), Hahei (divine!!) and Cooks Beach. Go to Cathedral Cove, you must park the car and take a walk over farmland to get there. I have photos of these places on my pages if you want to see how they are.

Are you just going to be in the Coromandel area - or are you going further afield? Lee

Go to Colville and stay at the Colville farmstay to get away from it all you can stay in some cabins quite cheaply especially if there are a few of you. The cabins are up in the native bush and have electricity supplied by waterwheel so its is very rustic. If you get boored the locals are an entertaining bunch... Colville is about half hour north of Coromandel township and it is the last real shop on the peninsula as you head north.
