by leah_7 Online Now Apr 17, 2013 at 6:37 PM

Hello, My GF and I will be hopefully driving to Cork from Belfast. We will have 6 days roughly from leaving Belfast August 4th, to Flying out to England August either 10 or 11 depending on what we find. Im looking for some help Itenerary wise with our time, I thought drive to the fartherst South and then Work back to Dublin (spending 1-2 days in Dublin?)
      What im looking for is:
      1) Where would you reccomend staying in Cork, moderate price good location
      2) I read you can stay in neat places like old castels and lighthouses etc...but cannot find further info?
      3) How to make the most out of our 4-5 days in the area, we dont mind travelling around and will hopefully have a car, perhaps we only stay 1 night or 2 in cork and then stay in Limrick or Killarny?

      Help!

      THanks!

What is important to us: budget accomodation good nightlife good choice of happy hours lower price level Should we stay in Limerick or Cork for our last night? We have a rental car and need to be at Shannon airport by 3 pm, so I thought in case we stay at Cork we need to leave by noon? Thank you and greetings! midnightfever

      Sports in Cork

by louiseanyon Online Now Jan 24, 2009 at 10:20 AM

I am going on holiday to Cork for a week in February (10th - 17th) and I was wondering if there were any sporting events on at that time. I must admit I would like to see either some hurling or some Gaelic football, although I read somewhere that the hurling team were on strike due to management issues. Has this been resolved and if it has where would I go to watch a live match? I would also be interested in knowing whether there is a New Age shop of some sort in Cork and where that may be too? Thanks for any help Louise

      Short Break in Cork

by jcourtnellsmith Online Now May 6, 2008 at 12:51 AM

Hi, my wife and I ( late 60s ) will be coming from Edinburgh for about four days in September. Is the airport the best place to hire a car ? No accommodation booked so what is the best way to explore the area ? E.G. One night B&Bs ? What is the going rate for 3* B&B ? For such a short stay would we be better off using public transport to and from airport and just book day trips from a B&B based in the city?

Hello, I'll be in Cork for a few weeks and am looking for day trips using public transportation. I'm already planning visits Cobh and Kinsale. From the center of Kinsale, how long (at a leisurely pace) does it take to walk to James Fort? What about Charles Fort? Any other day trips by bus I should consider? Thanks.

      From Dublin Airport to Cork

by Propermark Online Now Oct 8, 2007 at 6:00 AM

Hi all, I will be landing in Dublin Airport on October 21st at around 2pm. I need to get to Cork and I was wondering if it's better taking a train or a coach bus. I looked for info on the net and I found out buses takes 4 hrs and trains 2.50 hrs. What do you suggest? I will take a bus from the airport, and if I'm not wrong it'll take me to Grafton St, Dublin. The bus to Cork leaves from Westmoreland St. The trains should be leaving from Heuston Square. Which of these places is closer to Grafton?? Cause I'll have my luggage with me! :-))

      Bus day tour from Cork

by bostonerica Online Now Jul 27, 2007 at 8:10 AM

Hello, If I had to choose between a bus day tour of The Ring of Kerry OR the Lakes of Killarney....what would you recommend, and why? If you went on one of these (or both), how did you enjoy them? I am looking at https://www.buseireann.ie. Also, are Cobh and Kinsale near each other and accessible via public transportation? I am thinking of visiting both in one day, since I will only be in the Cork area for 3 days. Is that too much for one day or are they close enough for it to be realistic? Thanks!
