Flights to Cork - but where to stay?

Hi

I am travelling to Cork for 2 nights in October with my husband and 2 small children (5&3). I want to know where is best to stay so that there are things to do with the children but also where we can go out for a meal.

    For children’s activities it might be best to stay in the nearby town of Cobh, where you can visit Fota Wildlife Park http://www.fotawildlife.ie/

    I agree with Anne. There's interest for adults here as well. Some of the world's largest cruise ships stop off here but I'm not sure if there's much activity in October.
