      Summer Accommodation in Copenhagen

      by suziezed Online Now Yesterday

Hi - forgive me for asking a question that is not strictly about travel. A classmate is going to be doing an internship at WHO Europe office in Copenhagen and is desperately searching for accommodation for June, July & August. The internship is unpaid and since she is already stretching her finances (she's from Lithuania and studying in Sweden) she is getting anxious. Any suggestions welcome. She is a delightful young woman & I hate to see this opportunity turn into a nightmare for her as she struggles to find a place to stay she can afford. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

      Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Copenhagen

by 1gr8chef Online Now Feb 9, 2013 at 8:55 AM

I will be staying in Copenhagen this summer for a pre-cruise stay and getting ready to book a hotel. I was leaning towards the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, in Copenhagen. I know that it is a little on the expensive side, but since i will only be staying one night i am not concerned. I am just looking for a hotel that is pretty centrally located with good accommodations and friendly staff. Has anyone stayed in this hotel that can give me some insight to this hotel? Thanks.

    • Guided Tour - The Killing

by Ashtree0 Online Now Feb 9, 2013 at 6:08 AM

My husband and I are really looking forward to our first trip to Copenhagen in a few weeks time. We arrive on a Wednesday evening and return on Saturday afternoon. After reading several forums, one of things we would like to fit into our itinerary is a guided tour that relates to the tv series The Killing. The Visit Copenhagen website links to Peter and Pings website where they say they do a tour each Saturday at 4pm. This won't work for us as we will be on our way to the airport. I have emailed them twice to see if they do this tour on other days when we are there - unfortunately I haven't had a reply. Can anyone tell me if there are any other guided tours (1-2 hours as we have so much to do) that will fit in with our visit? Any help with this will be much appreciated.

    • Hotel during blues festival - how early should i book?

by travel_chach Online Now Feb 8, 2013 at 8:03 AM

I'm going to Copenhagen at the end of September exactly during the blues festival and traveling from far away. Wondering if hotel prices will start getting higher as the festival gets closer for the time period of September 26th-Oct 1st? Trying to gauge when I should book the hotel as my preference budget wise would have been 3 months before but I'm wondering if that's too late. Cheers! Travel_chach

What do folks wear in Copenhagen? Every city has a different "style" - like the different between New York City and Atlanta. What is the style like in Copenhagen? Are jeans okay for most days/nights, or do you need to "dress up" for evenings and nights out? Thanks!

I will be heading on a Scandinavian cruise in late July/early August and wanted some advice on what to wear/pack. I was thinking that the weather would be around the low 70's but not sure. We will be staring in Copenhagen, then visiting olso, Stockholm, Helsinki, Estonia, berlin, and St. Petersburg. Can anyone give me some advice on what to pack for the weather at these places for this time of year? Pants, shorts, jackets, umbrealls, etc? Thanks.

      Itinerary Advice

by xxsentiaxx Online Now Jan 2, 2013 at 3:28 PM

Hi there, I'm reaching out to VT'ers because in the past you've been so helpful with my itinerary. Hopefully I'll have the same luck this time. We're traveling for 10 days visiting Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. A little info that might help, We're flying between cities to save time, we're a young couple, and we don't spend much time in museums unless it's an absolutely must see. With that being said, here's our rough intinerary: Day 1: Arrive and begin Sightseeing in Copenhagen Day 2: Sightseeing in Copenhagen Day 3:Sightseeing in Copenhagen Day 4: Depart Copenhagen in the morning for Oslo by plane - Sightseeing in Oslo Day 5: Leave for Norway in a Nutshell Tour - overnight somewhere on this trip Day 6: Depart Bergen by plane to Stockholm Day 7:Sightseeing in Stockholm Day 8:perhaps Day trip to Helsinki by boat Day 9: Sightseeing in Stockholm Day 10: Depart Stockholm for Copenhagen and overnight there Day 11: Return to U.S. Please, any advice will be well recieved. Thanks in advance.

One day in copenhagen--too many sites by foot?

by 1gr8chef Online Now Dec 15, 2012 at 9:23 AM

My dad and I will be going on a scandinavian cruise this summer and will be starting in copenhagen. We are getting there a day early to explore the city. I have a list of sites to see for the whole say and and wondering if i can see all these in a day. Keep in mind we dont need many hours at each place. Also we had planned on seeing all these sites by walking only. So that way wee could see all the city in between the sites. Would this be doable? Tivoli Vor frelsers Kirke(church of our savior) The black Diamond(royal library) Opera house The Little Mermaid The Round Tower tycho brahe planetarium Nyhavn Also we will be staying at the Raddison Royal Blu, which is right by tivoli and the planitarium so those should be easy to visit.

      What not to miss

by Crazywoman Online Now Dec 4, 2012 at 10:59 PM

We are going to Copenhagen next weekend where we will meet up with another couple that has been there before so I am hoping that they will be able to guide us during our 2 days there. We have a limited amount of time though and would like to visit a christmas market or two and have some nice meals and visit some cosy pubs both for lunch and dinner. I heard that the christmas market at the tivoli is worth visiting, is there any other nice ones? Any reccommendations for places to eat and drink (not too fancy) would be nice too. We will be staying in a hotel close to the main railwaystation so at least for dinner it would be nice if it is not too far away from there. Is there anything else that I should not miss?

I will be in Copenhagen in mid-July after an exhausting trip through Scandinavia, and would like to unwind in a relaxing spa, which includes swimming pools, saunas, etc. I would be interested in a place the locals use more than tourists. A central location would be best, but I don't mind traveling to one via good public transport, within about a half hour radius. Your suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
