I will be in Copenhagen in mid-July after an exhausting trip through Scandinavia, and would like to unwind in a relaxing spa, which includes swimming pools, saunas, etc. I would be interested in a place the locals use more than tourists. A central location would be best, but I don't mind traveling to one via good public transport, within about a half hour radius. Your suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
DGI Byen right behind the train Station has swimming pools, sauna and a lot of water related activities. And that is open to the public as far as i know. And you don´t really get it more central than this. The street it is located at is "Tietgensgade 65" and like i mentioned befroe it´s right behind the train station.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. :) On Google's Streetview, I can easily see the complex main entrance on Tietgensgade 65. However, it looks quite huge and I can actually see the pool about 100-200 m down Ingerslevsgade, on the other side of the complex. Does one enter the pool and water facilities only from the main entrance? BTW, I have written them to check if all facilities will be open when I'm there. Their web site says that the spa is currently closed for renovations.

I must say that i have never been to the place. I just know of it cause i walk past it very often when i am in Copenhagen. The place also hosts a hotel and that is why it is so big.

I used to live in Frederiksberg (area in Copenhagen). They have a public swimming pool, and an area with spa, dead sea pool, saunas ect. The webpage is here, use google translate: frederiksberg.dk/ByOgKultur/... The spa is nice, not that big, but very relaxing. It is located 200 meters from the metro.

Outside Copenhagen there is Skodborg Kur og spa. I have never been there, but it is said to be very good. More expensive and luxuroious. The webpage is here: skodsborg.dk/da/spa_fitness....
