Two days in Copenhagen

by JAPrufrock Online Now Mar 8, 2012 at 9:39 PM

Greetings, ladies and gentles. I've managed to get two days in Copenhagen, starting this afternoon. I've got a hotel, and Wikitravel and VT tell me the touristy things to do. Fine, but ... ... if there are any VT members in Copenhagen with the time and inclination for conversation over a drink or two and some good food, I'd love to meet up. (Actually I'm more into food than drink and alas, it shows!) Which reminds me .... ... what are the places I can have traditional Danish food (at a price I can pay without selling my home)? I'm from India, so if you like, if/when we meet I can tell you stories about how I went to school on an elephant and had snakes for pets. Or not. Noli illegitimii carborundum! J.A.P.

Hi! I'd suggest checking out the VT Meetings page - on the right hand side of the Home Page. Team Viking have a meet on Monday, which I guess will be too late for you, but you could contact Team Viking members to see if anyone is available to meet up. You could also post your own meeting, but it's probably too short notice. Enjoy your trip!

Hey, Definitely drop in at Cafe Globen! It is owned by travellers, 2 of whom happen to be and VT members: cachaseiro (Claus) & razmatazz (Rasmus). Send them emails to see if they will be in town, but the cafe/pub of theirs will be open regardless. A good restaurant of value vegetarian (and tasty!!) buffet is rizraz - there are 2 branches. For both places, do check their addresses & location on google/maps. Best of luck (held og lykke in Danish!)
