Ming, the Baseball Hall of Fame is really outstanding. If you're even the slightest bit interested in our national sport, you'd kick yourself afterwards for missing this shrine while you're in Cooperstown. The previous poster pointed out some of the other interesting historic things to do, and I don't want to discourage you from enjoying those (or the beautiful scenery)...but I can't imagine being there and NOT going to the HOF.

    Mr. Ming,

Does a fish swim? Does a bear s**t in the woods?

The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York is an American shrine that is equivalent in expression and feeling to St. Paul's Cathedral in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Great Wall of China, all combined and rolled into one. When you step into that shrine to our national pastime, you had better have a chaw of Red Man handy, or at least a pocket full of bubble gum.

All kidding aside, the only thing missing in this homage to major league baseball is a commemorative plaque honoring the on-field exploits of one of the greatest hitters in the modern history of the game; number 14, Pete Rose.

    So yeah, it's worth it.

I agree with the above posters. Cooperstown is Hometown USA. If coming from a large city such as Los Angeles, as I did, and driving the streets into Cooperstown main street is like looking at a Norman Rockwell painting. If you know baseball, it will be a thrill to visit the Hall of Fame. If you don't know baseball, you will come away with a better knowledge of what makes young boys and some girls want to play catch with a baseball. Baseball. It is America's past-time, loved and just as American as apple pie. Stop in town and walk around. Go a few miles out of town and eat at DiMaggio's Home of the Cooperstown Hot Dog and have another American favorite, the Hot Dog with the works. DiMaggio's is across the street from Cooperstown Dreams Park about four miles south of Main Street in town, on Route 28. Makes me want to shout; "Play Ball."

    Websites of interest would be:
    Baseball Hall of Fame: http://baseballhall.org/

    DiMaggio's: http://www.cooperstownhotdog.com/
