I live in NYC, planning to camp in lake waramaug state park by taking the train from grand central to Waterbury station but , after I get to Waterbury station how do I get to the park?

I`m unable to rent a car.
I still need to get from West Haven to Norwich. However I only know of a bus from West Haven to New London.
Is there a possiblity of some kind of public transporation or can I only take a taxi?

Hi I will be staying at Foxwoods Resort Casino and would like to visit the town of Mystic, I wont have a car so I was trying to find out if there was public transport between the two places. Cheers Deano

How much is a cab from New London to Essex? I know I could take shoreline express and then take 9 towns bus but the schedule will not get me to where I want to go on time.

My 80-year old in-laws plan to stop for a night when driving my children from the Washington, DC, area to Maine. I figured that Hartford, CT, would be a good mid-way stopping point. However, after reading of the dangers and crime in Hartford, I am a bit freaked out to say the least! Is there a hotel located in a safe area of Hartford that is very close to Route 84 East? Or should they stop earlier or later in a safer town? The route they take to Maine, which my father-in-law will NOT deviate from, takes them over the Tappan Zee to Saw Mill River Pkwy, 684 North, 84 E, to Mass Turnpike (Rt. 90), etc. Thanks very much for any suggestions!

Is there a shuttle that leaves from new london and goes to mystic connecticutt?

I'd appreciate ideas for day trips out of New Haven. I will almost certainly hire a car and am willing to drive up to 2.5/3 hours each way. I'm also interested in potential daytrips by train, with a maximum journey time of around 2/2.5 hours each way. I'm interested in almost everything except sport and shopping, but especially interested in historical sites and landscapes. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

If we arrive in Mystic by train how easy is it to get around without our own car, probably staying at hampton inn

Folks, After spending a wonderful New Years Eve last winter at a B & B in Woodstock, VT (Lincoln Inn at Covered Bridge) which serves an optional great dinner, we are looking to repeat that experience this year. Hi, i will be leaving Storrs or the University of Connecticut this coming Tuesday morning. I need to get to NYC and i am not sure which mode of transport is the best option? Does anyone that lives in the area know if a local bus runs there or should i book a PeterPan bus @40 dollars, is that reasonable? Thanks in advance, Ryan.

Is there a shuttle between Mistic Village and Mystic Seaport? Is there an available schedule?

I am planning on taking my mother to Mystic in the Fall for a weekend getaway. We don't drive. Is Mystic a walker friendly place? Are their inns in town to enjoy and you can walk out and start shopping? Please advise as I really want to take her!!!

Hello. After reading all the negative and quite scary info on Hartford, I am now nervous about seeing a concert at the XL Theatre. Also,staying at the Holiday Inn Express (downtown). Can someone PLEASE give me some more info about this area and is it pretty safe there? I would really appreciate it. My husband and I don't get away much. Was looking forward to a concert and now I am scared to death! Thanks

My son is doing a project about Connecticut and needs pictures and items for a poster. I can't get brochures from the dept. of tourism due to budget cuts. A discussion about the As Seen on TV store in Milford, Ct. appeared. Is there any other store than the one in the Ct Post Mall? Someone told me there was a store on the Boston Post Road in either Milford or Orange but I don't find anything but the one at the Mall

Hi VT'ers! I'm going to the WOrld Series on Wednesday, and must wake up in, or near, Bridgeport on Thursday morning. While I am driving from the Bronx to Bridgeport, I need to drop somebody off at a MetroNorth on Thursday morning. I've been on Tripadvisor for the last 90 minutes, reading up on The Holiday Inn in Bridgeport, Hilton Garden Inn of Stratford, and Marriott in Trumbull. I gather that downtown Bridgeport is a slum, and that I'd want to stay in a safer town - especially as I'll be arriving at my hotel around 1am early Thursday morning. I'd like to keep it around150. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Is it a good hotel, in a good location? Is it easy to get to I believe I will be coming in on I91 then trying to connect to I95 when leaving.

For almost all previous travel I arrange hotel stays for the entire trip before we leave home. This time we would like to be free to move on when ready and stay longer when we enjoy the place. The plan is to drive from Kitchener, Ontario to Coastal Connecticut and back. What strategy do people use to find hotels along the way? What time of day to start looking? we are the parents of a son who has been granted a live audition at the Opera Dept. of Yale!!!! we are so happy, but just 1 thing- we are from central illinois, the armpit of the nation. We know nothing of big city life and such. We 3 will be flying up and staying the weekend in February, wondering if it would be better to take a taxi around all weekend, of just rent a car at the airport? Isthere anything we must, or must NOT do? thank you!
